Changes

"Heather!" a familiar male voice called across the airport
waiting area.

"Nickala!" I exclaimed, running into his arms.

He held me for a minute and then pulled away, making
a face.

"You know I don't like you calling me that." I giggled.

"I know. Why else would I call you that?"

He pouted at me.

"Okay, I'm sorry. That's what Jen calls you and I think
it's kinda cute."

"Jen?" he asked.

"Oh, just someone I met online.
She's hilarious!" I replied.

"Cool." He was about to say something
else when he was interrupted.

"Heather!" a younger voice yelled.

"Whoa!" I cried as a short orange blur barreled
into me.

"Hi to you too Aaron." He looked up at me
with a cute grin.

"Hi."

"Hey Angel. Where's BJ?" I asked.

"She's with her BOYFRIEND." Aaron told me,
making a face.

"You can be so immature!" Angel informed
her twin haughtily. I giggled.

"Come on you guys. Let's go get my luggage okay?
And then we can go out for ice cream or something."

"Okay! I'll race you!" Aaron told his sister. With that
they were off.

"My siblings." Nick said wearily. I laughed and
nudged him.

"You love it and you know it."

"Yeah I do." he admitted. "Now let's catch up
with them." And he was running off after his brother
and sister.

"Nick!" I yelled, running after him. "Have I mentioned
how much
I hate running through crowded airports?" I griped.

He looked around with a grin. "Come on! You're so
slow!"
I rolled my eyes.

"You have longer legs." I called back.

"What does that have to do with anything?" he
asked as we neared the luggage rotator thing.

I glared at him. "I am not even going to answer that."

"So you're jealous cause I'm taller than you? Is
that what you're saying?" Nick teased.

"No! That is NOT what I am saying! I like my
height! Why would I want to be as tall as you?"

I argued, frowning at him. "Awww, you're just
jealous." Nick replied, laughing.

"Nick!!" I whined. "C'mon!"

"Admit it." he demanded.

I stuck my tongue out at him.

"No, cause then I would be lying."

"Are you guys done yet? That is SO immature!" Aaron
interrupted us.

Nick and I looked at each other and burst out
laughing. "Like you're one to talk Airboy." I
replied, rolling my eyes.

"Did you get my luggage?"

"No, this is actually something that we stole from an
little old lady. We thought that it might be more
useful to you." he replied.

"Okay, okay, enough with the sarcasm! Let's
just go get on the tram and go, okay?" I suggested.

"Fine with me." Aaron shrugged.

"You guys are the ones who were wanting to hang
around here all night. We've been ready for
a longtime."

"Leave me out of this." Angel protested.

"We were waiting for all of 30 seconds!"

"C'mon! Let's go!" Nick herded us toward the
tram. I giggled.

"Okay. Where do you guys wanna go when we finally
get outta here?" I asked.

"Ice cream!" Aaron exclaimed. I laughed a little.

We boarded the tram and it took off toward the
parking garage. I looked out the transparent side
and sighed a little.

"It's gorgeous out there with all the lights."

"Mmmhmm." Nick murmured behind me.

Chills went up my back when he said that and I
frowned, puzzled.

What was that? I only reacted thatway to guys
that I liked.

No way. It was a fluke. Nick was my
best friend! We'd known each other forever!

My mom and his dad had gone to school
together! He was the first one I called when
I made jazz choir.

The first one to hear about all my crushes. I was sure he
was sick of it, but he was patient with me anyway.

I remembered when he first got the record deal.
I had been so proud!

And then when "We've Got It Goin' On"gained
radio play
I was ecstatic.

I told everyone who would listen that that was
my best friend.

My cat got to hear about it a lot. I had listened to it
so much I was sure that I could sing the whole
damn song forward and backward.

I shared his disappointment in the lack of American
enthusiasm, and the excitement of European reaction.

We were there for each other through every event that
had ever happened to us.

I couldn't possibly be reacting to him physically! He
wasn't a guy, he was just...Nick.

"HEATHER!" Nick yelled. I whirled around.

"What?!" I asked.

"I've been calling your name for ages. We're here.
Let's go." he urged, taking my hand and pulling me
out of the tram.

"What's up with you?"

"Ummm, it was a long flight. I'm kinda spacey
right now." I lied. I wasn't going to tell him where my
thoughts had been.

We stepped out into the parking garage and I
made a face.

"Uggh. I forgot how humid it was here."

"Yeah. Welcome to Florida!" Nick said cheerfully.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

After a short, but harrowing drive we arrived at a
small ice cream place that was still open.

Aaron, Angel, Nick and I piled out of the car and
entered the place.
I looked at the selection, not quite reading it. I
decided to push the thoughts about Nick out of my
head.

It had been a reaction. Maybe not even to Nick.
Who knew? Whatever it was, it wasn't worth
the hassle.

"So, what do you want?" Nick asked me.

"Hmm? Oh, I think I'll have Chocolate Espresso."
I informed him. "By the way, I am paying for this!"

"No way girl!" Nick argued. "I haven't seen you in ages
and you're staying with us and that means you're the
guest here so I am paying for you."

"You never come to Boise." I replied.

"So I never get a chance. Either I pay for you or
I don't get anything." I challenged him with my gaze.

Nick sighed finally, shrugging. "Okay, you win. But I
pay for the next thing, okay?"

"Okay!" I agreed cheerfully. "What do you guys want?"
I asked Aaron and Angel.

"I want bubble gum." Aaron announced.

"Strawberry." Angel said. "Please."

"And you, Nick?"

"Um, Lime." he decided. I raised an eyebrow.

"Lime?"

"Yep. I decided to be different tonight." Nick replied.

"You make that decision every day of your life my dear."
I teased. "I haven't ever known you to be normal!"

"And to know me is to love me!" he announced.
I laughed and hugged him.

"Yep!"

"Can I help you?" the chick behind the counter asked.

I grinned, wondering how long she had been waiting
for us. She sounded extremely annoyed.

"Maybe." I replied, deciding to be a smart ass.
"We were wanting ice cream. Do you have any of that?"

"Yes we do." I could tell she was straining to be polite.

"What particular kind would you like?"

"I want broccoli." Nick answered, keeping a
straight face. He looked completely serious.
I was almost rolling.

"I'm sorry. We don't have any of that. Would you like
something else?" Now her tone was down right rude.

"You don't have broccoli?" Nick
yelled. "How can you not have broccoli? Don't you
know that that is the ONLY kind of ice cream
people should be eating? In fact there shouldn't even
BE any other kinds of ice cream! We should all eat
broccoli ice cream, but we can't because YOU don't
have any!"

I was rolling. Aaron and Angel were giggling and the
girl behind the counter looked as if she
would happily escort us to the nearest pier and
shove us off.

"I'm sorry, but we don't have any." she said again,
through gritted teeth.

"Oh, okay. Then Lime would be fine." Nick said in an
off-hand tone, shrugging.

"Thank you. Anyone else?" she asked glaring at us,
daring us to try it again.

"Chocolate Espresso please." I said politely.
Angel and Aaron gave her their orders too and soon
we all had ice cream.
We sat down in a corner booth and every once in a
while we would receive glares from the girl
which set us off into giggles. I was feeling extremely
hyper.

Mainly because I was with my best friend again
after forever, but partly because of the sugar
and caffeine I'd had that day.

Finally we finished and left the place, much to
the joy of the girl, who watched us go with a smile.

I turned and waved at her as we left, which set us
off again.
We piled into the car giggling.

I turned to Nick when I was buckled in.

"I wish you would let me drive. You're scary!" I accused.

Nick laughed at me. "And you, oh perfect one, are so
much better?"

"I am!" I replied indignantly. "I only drive 85
instead of 90."

Nick grinned. "Oh, I am so sorry. You're right, that is
SO much better than me!"

"Thank you. At least you admit that you're wrong."
I told him in a fake snotty tone.

I couldn't keep that though and started cracking up.

"Is something wrong?" Nick asked innocently.

"Oh shut up and drive Carter." I told him.

"Ma'am, yes ma'am!" He saluted me and took off. I acted
terrified and gripped the door handle tightly.

"Nick, you're driving too fast!" I whined.

"Uh huh, and this is coming from Miss 'Get the Hell
outta my
way before I run you over'?" Nick asked
raising an eyebrow. I grinned.

"Yep. You know I'm just kidding though."

"Yeah." Nick nodded and we fell silent. I leaned
forward and turned on the radio.

I began flipping through stations until I found extremely
familiar guitar strains. I squealed and turned the radio up.

"I love this song!" I yelled over the music.

"Yeah, I know!" Nick grinned at me.

"It's Prince." I nodded happilyand looked at him
expectantly as Prince began singing. Nick took his
cue and began.

"U walked in, I woke up, I never seen a pretty
girllook so
tough." He finished the line and I continued with him
on the chorus.

"U got the look, U got the hook, U sho'nuff do be
cookin' in my book. Urface is jammin', Ur body's
heck-a-slammin'. If love is good let's getto rammin'
baby.
U got the look."

We sang the whole song like that, with me taking
Sheena Easton's parts and Nick doing Prince's.
When it was over I laughed and turned down the
radio a little.

Nick looked at me speculatively. "You'd get along
with Kevin I think."

"Kevin...which one is that? I so don't
remember!! Is he the shorter blondish one?" I asked.

"No, that's his cousin Brian, my other best friend."
Nick informed me.

"My replacement?" I joked. He gave me a 'look'.

"I could never replace you." he said softly.

I looked down and then back up at him and
smiled a little.

"I know Nick, I was kidding. Now which one is Kevin?"

"Kevin's the tall dark haired one." Nick told
me. I laughed.

"That helps so much Nick. I am way
short so they're all taller than me and you
and Brian are the only fair haired ones
in the group!"

"Okay, he's the one that's close to
my height." I thought, drawing a mental picture,
then nodded.

"Okay, I think I got it. Why would I get along
with him?"

Nick shrugged. "Fellow Prince fan."

"He listens to him?" I asked, delighted.

I was always thrilled to find someone I could
talk about his music to since I drove most
of my friends nuts.

"Yeah, I'll have to introduce you
sometime." Nick said as he pulled into his driveway.

"That'd be cool Nick!" I exclaimed.

I turned around to say something to Angel
and Aaron and smiled when I saw them.

"Look." I whispered. Nick glanced at the back seat
and chuckled.

"I guess we'll have to carry them in. You take Angel and
I'll take Aaron, okay?"

I nodded. "Okay." We each took one of the twins
and took them in the house. Then we grabbed
my luggage and
Nick showed me where I was staying.

I dropped my stuff off and we went to catch up.
We sat and talked forever in the living room quietly.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I awoke the next morning to Nick talking on the phone.
I groaned and shut my eyes, listening to him.

"No Brian! Just because! That's why! I know I am.
I have a right to. No, could you give me a day or
something?
You wouldn't! BRIAN!!" Nick was whining by this
time.

I wondered what they were arguing about. "No, don't
put
AJ on....hi AJ." Nick sighed. "Yes I know, but I
don't want to. Not today. Okay, if I do that then will
you
guys leave me alone? I swear. Okay, you win, we'll
see you in
a little while. Yes I'll call you. I don't even
think she's up yet. Yeah, bye."

"She is awake and very curious about what you were
talking about." I told him when he hung up the phone.

"We're meeting the guys for lunch at McDonald's
sometime today." Nick informed me.

"Oh good. I wanna meet them. When?" I asked.

I noted that Nick looked less than thrilled and
wondered about that, but pushed it out of my mind for
the moment.

"I dunno." he shrugged. "I'm supposed to call
them when we're ready to go."

"Okay, well I'm gonna go get dressed and stuff,
alright?" I said.

"Sure. Just tell me when you're ready, k?"

"Sure thing!" I called over my shoulder, going off to
my room. I wondered what was up with Nick as
I was slipping on my jean shorts and red tank top.

He was acting weird. Why didn't he want me to meet
his friends? I thought that he had wanted me to meet
Kevin and the rest of them. What were their names?
I thought. Oh yeah;
AJ, Brian, and Howie. I had seen pictures of them
of course,
but I had never met them and I hadn't paid attention to
teen
type mags for a long time.

I had all of their albums and singles of course,
but I had only
paid attention to the music. Now I was wishing that
I'd paid
more attention to the liner notes. Well, theirs anyway,
I had read all of Nick's.

I ran a brush through my hair and slid on some light
lip gloss.
Inspecting my appearance I decided that I was
presentable
and grabbing my purse I bounded out into the
living room again.

"I'm ready." I announced.

Nick stared at me blankly for a moment. Then he
smiled. "Okay, let me call them then we can go." I waited
patiently as he called and talked to one of his friends.

The second he hung up though I was as impatient as
ever.

"Come ON! Let's go already!"

"Yes oh impatient one." Nick chuckled and offered me
his arm
which I took grandly. "Your chariot awaits m'dear."
I giggled.

"Then let's get a move on Nicky dear." He shook his
head and we went out to the car.

He peeled out of the driveway and gave me a look that
just dared me to make a comment.

I just grinned and shook my head telling him that I
wasn't going to. I didn't feel like it right then.

I sat back and enjoyed the wind in my face, wondering
if I would like his friends or not. I hoped so.

A few minutes later we pulled into a McDonald's and I
followed him inside. We were met loudly by a table of
four guys who I immediately recognized.

Nick pulled me over to the table and began introducing
me to them. "Heather, this is AJ, Brian, Kevin
and Howie." Nick introduced. "Guys, this is Heather."

"Ah, so this is the Heather Nick talks about all the time."
AJ commented, smiling at me. I smiled back at him.
He was hot!

Actually they all were, but that was sort of beside
the point.

"It's nice to meet you." I said some what shyly. "Well,
all of you actually."

"Same here." Kevin replied with a smile.

"We need to talk later." Brian told me with a
devilish
smile.
"I'm sure you have
some stories you could tell about Nick."
I laughed, feeling more at ease.

"I do. And you?"

"Oh yeah!" he exclaimed.
Then we definitely need to talk!" I agreed.

"Hey!" Nick protested. "You guys can't do that!"

"And who says?" I asked, poking him lightly.

"I do." he replied.

"Sure hon, whatever you say." I rolled my eyes.

"Have a seat." Howie offered, gesturing to one by him.

I smiled and sat down. "Thank you."

"So, tell us about you." AJ prompted. I smiled flirtatiously
at him.

"Well, what would you like toknow?"

"I think the question here would be what don't we
already know." Brian said. I looked at him quizzically.

"What do you mean?" I asked, not sure what he was
getting at. He motioned toward Nick.

"Nicky here talks about you almost nonstop.
We can't get him to shut up."

Nick hit him. "I do not!" he protested.

"Yeah you do." Brian replied, grinning.

"Nuh uh." Nick argued. I laughed. He sounded like a
little kid.

"Okay guys. It's okay. I'm sure my friends get sick of
hearing about Nick too."

"Really?" he asked, sounding pleased.

"Uh huh. You're my best friend. Of course I'm
gonna tell people all about you. Everyone is SO sick
of hearing about the group and your music and what
you're doing and where you're going to be on tour
and the stuff you tell me and everything actually!
They were threatening to shove me off a cliff somewhere
or something!" I informed him.

"Cool." he grinned at me. I smiled back, aware of the
glances that some of the other guys were giving each
other around me.

I wondered what was up. "So...about you?" Kevin
prompted.

"Well, what do you want to know?" I repeated and
began fielding questions.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Two hours later I was back at Nick's and royally
pissed.

He had been rude and disapproving almost the
entire time.

At the beginning it had been fine, but when I started
flirting with AJ and Brian he had gotten rude.

He kept making comments that made me want
to slap him.

When he pulled into the driveway I hopped out of the
car almost before it had stopped moving and stalked
into the house, going to my room and slamming the
door.

I turned on my stereo and flopped down on the bed,
staring at the ceiling. I fumed and called Nick all sorts
of names.

What the hell was wrong with him? He was acting like
a spoiled brat.

The phone rang, breaking through my mental rantings.

A few moments later the door cracked a little and BJ
poked her head in the room.

"It's for you." she told me.

I took the phone from her quizzically. "Hello?"

"Hey there!" a male voice replied sounding over
enthusiastic. I didn't recognize it.

"Who is this?" I asked.

"You don't recognize my voice? I'm hurt." He made
sobbing noises on the other end and then laughed.
"Nah, this is Brian."

"Bri!" I exclaimed happily. "Whassup?!"

"Nothin'. I was just wondering if you'd like to take
me up on that offer to tell stories about Nick."
I wasn't sure if he was joking or not.

"Seriously?" I questioned.

"Well, partly! I wanna see you again though." Brian
answered.

"Okay, well how about right now?" I suggested.

"Now?" he asked, a little surprised.

"Yeah." I sighed. "I'll let you know what's goin' on when
you come, but I've gotta get out of here! And soon!"

"Okay, I'll be over in ten minutes, kay?" he said.

"That's great! I'll be ready." I promised.

"Kay, great. See you!" Brian said in closing.

"Bye!" I replied before hanging up the phone. I smiled to
myself, more than slightly happier. Picking up my
brush I ran it through my hair and thought about Brian.
He was cute.
He didn't take my breath away, or make my heart stop,
or turn my world inside out, but he was cute. And he
was funny. And if nothing else he would be a great
friend and I was sure I would enjoy hanging with him.

Approximately ten minutes later the doorbell rang.
I rushed out to the living room and almost ran into Nick.
Instead of apologizing like I normally would have I
glared at him and moved to the door.

Opening it I smiled charmingly at Brian. "Hi Brian!"
I chirped.

"Hey, are you ready to go?" he asked.

"Uh huh." I nodded, throwing a 'so there' look at Nick.

"Brian?" Nick asked. He sounded subdued.
That wasn't something I was used to from Nick.

Normally he was loud and boisterous.

"We'll see you Nick, k?" Brian said before taking my
hand and shutting the door behind us.

"Thank you so much! I had to get out of there!" I
exclaimed
as we backed out of the driveway.
Brian shot me a questioning glance.

"Why? What's wrong?"

"Nick!" I replied hotly. "I don't know what's wrong with
him, but he's acting like a complete ass. He's acting like
he's jealous or something. I don't know.
Like he doesn't want me to become friends with any of
you!"

"Hmmm." Was all Brian said. He gave me a side glance
and then looked back at the road, thoughtful.
I wondered what he knew that I didn't.

I had been friends with Nick longer than he had.
So what did he know about Nick that I didn't?

"What is it?" I finally asked, getting straight to the point.

"Nothing." Brian replied, vaguely. I sighed in frustration
and crossed my arms over my chest, staring out the
window.

If he wouldn't tell me I would at least try to make
him feel guilty for it. I couldn't help but be curious.

There wasn't a single thing I could think of that would
make Nick act like that toward me. Unless...I gasped.

"Brian! It's not that Nick has....feelings for me is it?"
I asked.

Brian coughed. "I, um, really don't know. He didn't tell
me if he does."

"Oh." I nodded and sank back in the seat. That would
change everything. But the thought wasn't unappealing
to me I found. This shocked me.

Nick was my friend, but did I want more? That was too
weird! We had been friends forever. I got the feeling
that I had had this argument with myself before. Oh
that's right,
the airport. Did I want him to be more than my friend?

I thought for a moment and then realized that I didn't
really know. We had been friends for so long
that it was hard for me to think of him as anything else.

"Hey, Heather?" Brian broke my reverie.

I looked up at him. "Huh?"

"We're here." He told me with a slight smile.

I blushed. "Oh! Sorry! I guess I was out somewhere
else."

"It's okay." He assured me.

"Let's go walk on the beach or something, okay?"

"Sounds good to me." I replied taking his offered hand
with a smile.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It was dark by the time I got back.

I opened the door quietly and tiptoed into the house.

Apparently I wasn't quiet enough though because the
light flicked on almost giving me a heart attack.

I sighed in relief when I saw that it was just Nick.
He didn't look happy though. "I, um, hi Nick." I said
in a small voice. I wasn't angry with him anymore.
My little talk with Brian had helped that.

He looked at me for a moment. "Hi." He replied gravely.

"Is...something wrong?" I asked hesitantly.

"Depends on your point of view." He answered.

"I, um, what do you mean?" I questioned nervously.

"What exactly did you do with Brian? You were
gone for seven hours!" Nick exclaimed. "I was
worried!"

"You're not my father Nick!" I told him, getting upset.

He mumbled something that sounded like "I know."
But I wasn't entirely sure.

"You have no place telling me where I should be and
who I should be with and how long I should be there!"
I continued,
almost yelling. "Brian is supposed to be your best
friend, don't you trust him? And I thought I was one of
your best friends too Nick. Don't you trust me?!"

Nick ran his fingers through his blond hair and for a
moment I wished that I could do that for him, but shook
my head. This was Nick and I was supposed to be
mad at him.

"Yes Heather. I trust you. I trust Brian too. I just...I don't
know." I took a step closer to him.

"Why are you acting like this?" I asked softly. "What's
wrong? It didn't use to be like this."

"I...I can't explain." Nick muttered, looking away
from me.

I moved closer to him until I was close enough to touch
his arm lightly. "You used to be able to tell me anything.
Even when it wasn't reasonable or when there wasn't
really an explanation. What happened? Why aren't
we still like that?"

Nick moved away from my touch ever so slightly.
"Please Heather." He pleaded. "I can't tell you."

"Can't or won't?" I asked.

I was trying not to be hurt by his actions,
but still was to some degree.

Nick sighed heavily. "Both I suppose. I can't tell you,
but I don't really want to either. It would ruin
everything."

"Oh?" I asked softly, running a hand across his back.

"Please don't do that." He requested. I stepped
away, hurt.

"Okay. Why not?"

"Because. I...just don't okay?" Nick finally looked me
in the eyes and I saw something there that
frightened me because it meant change, but it also
exhilarated me.

"Nick..." I began quietly. "Is anyone else home?"

He gave me a puzzled look. "No, why?" I smiled at
him and moved closer so I was pressed up against him.

He bit his lower lip, but didn't move away. My hands
laid flat on his chest and then moved up so they were
cupping his face. With slight pressure I brought
him down until I could reach up and kiss him.

His lips were soft and he seemed shocked at first,
unable to do anything. Then his hands rested on
my waist. I slid my tongue in his mouth smoothly and
could hear his low groan. I smiled and proceeded to
explore his mouth thoroughly.

Nick's hands began moving over my back and I melted
into him, deepening the kiss even further.

"Mmm." I murmured when we parted. My eyes were still
slightly glazed from the kiss.

"I..." Nick stopped.

"What?" I asked huskily, tracing lazy circles on his
collarbone with my nail.

"Ohh." He groaned. "I, um, I..." Nick licked
his lips. "That was incredible." He finally said.

I grinned with complete satisfaction. "Yeah it was. Why
didn't we do that sooner?" I asked.

"Because we, um, you know, I really don't
know." He thought for a moment and then shook is
head.

I giggled. "Well, I was wondering..." I trailed off
suggestively.

Nick's eyebrows raised. "What?" he prompted.

"Well...I think it's a little too soon for some things, but
others..." I trailed off again.

Nick pulled me close again. "Oh." He breathed into my
neck. "You mean that a little exploration might
be a good thing?"

"Uh huh." I nodded breathlessly. "What do you say?"

"I think that might be a good idea." He replied.

"Hmmm...then let's continue in my room okay?" I took his
hand and led him down the hall to my room. I silently
thanked whoever might be listening for clearing the
house of everybody.

In my room I shut the door behind us and he pulled me
to him again. I directed his hands to the front of me,
urging him to do something.

He untucked my tank top and slid his hands
underneath, burying his head in my neck.

I bit my lip and tried to remain still while he kissed
my neck. A moment later he pulled away.

"Exactly how far do you want to go?" he asked seriously.

"I don't think I'm ready to go all the way yet. I
mean I want to, but I really don't think that we should."
I mused.

Nick let out a sigh of relief. "Good. Cause
I didn't think we were ready yet either."

"However," I added with an evil grin, "anything else is
fair game."

"You got it." He replied pulling me to him again.

I kissed him fiercely and then backed off a little,
taking it a little slower. I sucked on his bottom lip before
moving down to his neck. He moaned a softly.

I pushed his outer shirt off of his shoulders and then
untucked his T-shirt from his jeans, breaking contact
long enough to pull it over his head. Then my mouth was
back on his skin, but he moved away from me.

I pouted at him and he grinned, but shook his head.

"Your turn." Nick informed me, kissing me softly.

His hands rested on my waist and then moved up slowly,
taking my tank top with them until he pulled it over
my head.

Nick's lips moved down my neck, dipping into the valley
between my breasts. I ran my fingers through his
thick blond
hair pulling him closer.

His mouth felt incredible and a low groan escaped my
mouth. I wanted him badly, but… Nope, I still held with
the idea that we weren't ready for that yet.
Although the irony of that thought didn't escape me.

We were prepared to do everything but, yet we weren't
prepared to take that final step. I raised an eyebrow,
but kept my thoughts tomyself.

I was getting frustrated though because although Nick's
mouth felt wonderful where it was he wasn't
DOING anything!

I bit back a sigh. "Nick?" I asked.

He looked at me with a question in his blue eyes.
"Yeah?"

"You CAN do more than that you know. I mean,
well, don't be afraid to go further. Do you know what I
mean?" I wasn't making any sense I was sure.
Nick grinned.

"Yeah, I understand. I guess I'm just a little afraid of
doing something you're not comfortable with. This is a
little weird."

"Yeah I know. But if you do something that I'm
uncomfortable with I'll tell you okay?" I told him.

"Got it." He agreed. "Now, you can continue."

I giggled slightly, running my hands over his chest.
"Mmm,
sure." Nick murmured, reaching around behind me to
unhook my bra.

His tongue slipped down and I thought I was
going to lose it. How had he gotten so GOOD at this?

I didn't really want to come up withan answer for that I
decided. So I simply closed my eyes and let the
sensations wash over me. He was incredible.
Utterly incredible.

"Nick," I moaned lightly. "where exactly did
you learn to do this?"

He grinned at me. "Natural talent?"

"Mmmhmm." I murmured. "Never mind. I really
don't care."

He unbuttoned my shorts and gently, slowly pulled
them down.

I almost screamed when his tongue touched me. The
boy was TALENTED!

My fingers tangled in his blond hair, pulling him as
close as I could. Finally I came, reeling over the
edge of sanity.

"Nick." I finally said.

"What?" he asked.

"You are amazing." I told him, kissing him lightly
on the lips.

"Thank you." He grinned.

"Now it's my turn." I informed him, rolling over so
he was laying on the bed and I was straddling him.

A surprised look crossed his face and then he relaxed,
laying back.

I kissed his neck, moving down his chest. My nails
circled his nipples lightly and I smiled when he moaned.
My tongue explored every inch of his chest before
moving down to his stomach.

I licked around the front of his jeans before undoing the
button and zipper. I nipped at him playfully through the
fabric before stripping away the remaining layers
of clothing.

He grabbed the comforter as I took him in my mouth,
teasing with my tongue. It wasn't long before he came.

"You know," he said after his breathing had slowed.
"I'm not even going to ask you where you learned
to do that."

"Good." I grinned at him. "Cause I wasn't going to
tell yo
u."

Nick laughed.
"You know, somehow I knew that."
We were silent for a little while again.

Then, watching him in the moonlight I was
struck by realization.

"Nick, I love you."

"You sound surprised." Nick told me, slightly amused.

"I am sort of. I mean I knew that I loved you as a
friend, and then I knew that I was attracted to you,
but it just hit me right now that I love you. I mean,
REALLY love you." I said.

Nick pulled me to him. "I love you too."
He whispered in my ear.

"This is going to change everything you know." I
warned him.

"I don't want to go back to the way things were.
Do you?"
Nick asked. I didn't have to think for very long about
that one.

"No." I shook my head. "I don't want things back the way
they were. I don't want us to stop being friends
though. I mean lovers is cool and definitely has some
benefits," I stopped to grin at him. "but being friends
means a lot to me. I mean I really
appreciate that I can call you up and tell you anything."

"I feel the same." Nick agreed.

"So we don't let this change the fact that we're friends."
I stated. "However, I think that the rest of this
vacation is going to be interesting." I gave him a
meaningful look.

"Umm, I think so too." He laughed a little.

"Right now I think that you should probably go back
to your room or something cause I don't think you want
your parents to find us in here like this." I told him.

Sometimes I really hated being the voice of reason.
"Awww." Nick pouted a little.

"Hey! I could stay in here! After we're fully dressed of
course. We could tell them that we fell asleep
watching a movie or something." He suggested.

I grinned. "Yeah, we could." We spent a couple
moments pulling all our clothes on again. When we
were both fully
clothed I gestured to him.

"Come here you."

He moved up by me and I snuggled against him.
"I love you." He told me again softly. I kissed him
lingeringly before pillowing my head on his chest.
"I love you too." I replied, closing my eyes and
drifting off into sleep.

THE END!!!
