Chapter 14

"Jessie…WAKE UP!" Belle said pouring water
on me as I screamed.

"What are you doing?" I said standing
in soaking wet clothes.

"Well you never wake up, I thought this would be the
way to get you up…look there's the guys," Belle said
pointing as I turned to see them laughing at me.

"HA HA!" Nick said pointing and laughing.

"Carter!" I said running after him and
tackling him to the ground.

"Check out the ring guys!" Nick said holding my hand
up from the ground as the guys looked in awe.

"Jesus!" Kevin said as A.J. walked in
from the bathroom.

"Hey baby, glad to see you're up," A.J. said helping me
off Nick. He kissed me lightly as I looked at the guys.

"They saw the ring," I whispered,
informing A.J. of their shocked faces.

"Boner are you crazy? That probably cost
as much as this hotel!" Brian said as A.J. shrugged.

"Anything for my fiancée," he said as the guys groaned.

"So when are we doing this?" Howie
asked as I wrung out my hair.

"When are we baby?" I asked A.J.

"Um…I called and got reservations
at the Silver Belle at 6," he said as I sighed.

"6? That's so far away!" I whined kissing him lightly.

"Save that for tonight huh?" Nick said as Belle nodded.

"Go…Nick go play," I said brushing him off.

"I hope Denise and Johnny don't
find out," Howie said as I looked at him.

"How would they?" I asked.

"Well when they find out you didn't go to England,
and we cancelled shows, they'll kind of find out if
they're not stupid," Howie said as A.J.
and I both looked at each other.

"Don't scare the bride and groom what's
wrong with you?" Brian said smacking Howie
in the back of the head.

"Come on you guys, we gotta go have fun!" Nick
said grabbing Belle's arm as they ran out of the room.

"I'll be there soon you guys, I'll meet you in
the lobby," I said as everyone but A.J. walked out.

"You okay baby?" He asked brushing his
hand across my cheek.

"Yeah, I'm just going to change and dry
my hair," I said squirting some of the water on the floor.

"You sure you're okay?" He asked sweetly.

"Baby, we're getting married, I'm fine!" I said kissing
him happily. He shut the door as I fell
on the bed. I was starting to have doubts, BIG ones.

"Hey there you are! Let's go!" Brian said as
I took A.J.'s hand.

"Where are we gonna go?" Howie asked as we
looked at all the stuff there was to do.

"Let's go to Circus, Circus! I love that place!" Nick
suggested as we shrugged. We all got taxi's, getting
ready to go to some dorky hotel.
A.J., Brian, and I shared a taxi, Brian couldn't shut up!

"You guys, are you excited?" He asked jumping
up and down.

"About what?" I asked.

"Getting married goofy!" He said smacking my
leg playfully.

"Of course, are you?" I asked A.J.

"Oh yeah, my best friends here to see me and my
baby get married, of course!" He said kissing
my forehead.

"So where are you guys going to live?" He asked.

"Don't know yet," I said as I started getting nervous.
A.J. and I had no place to live, no money,
no house; I don't have a job…AHH!

"28.50," the cab driver said as A.J. pulled out his
wallet. I leaped over him and got out of the taxi.
I needed air; this was too nerve-racking, too scary!

"You okay J?" Brian said brushing my back.

"Yeah, it was just stuffy in there," I said with a fake smile.

"There you are B-Rok! Come on buddy!" Nick said
as A.J., Brian and I walked down to the
entrance of the hotel.

"Oh yummy! Look at that food!" Howie said
as all the guys' mouth dropped.

"Let's eat!" Nick said as Belle and my
mouth gagged. A.J. and Nick grabbed us and sat down.

"I'm not hungry," Belle and I both said at Nick and A.J.

"You girls can go days without eating,
makes me gag!" Brian said as the guys
nodded at his remark.

"And we're the one's skinnier then all
5 of you isn't that right?" I asked Belle.

"Damn straight!" She said as we giggled at
the looks on their faces.

"The only one who is skinny is my
baby here," I said poking his bony stomach.

"HEY!" They all whined as A.J. smiled at
them. I kissed A.J.'s cheek and laughed as
they all pouted.

"I gotta go potty," Belle said taking my
arm and pulling me out of the chair.

"What are you doing?" I asked as we walked
over to the bathroom.

"You don't look like you were
yesterday," she said as I shrugged.

"So?"

"So yesterday you were so overjoyed! Now you look…
like you don't want to do this," she said as I
sighed. Tears flowed out of my eyes as I sat
down on the tiled floor.

"We shouldn't be doing this! We have
no money, no place to live, no job…"

"Whoa hey! Chill girl!" Belle said as I sighed.

"I want to marry him, I really do! I just…don't think
I could tonight! I have so much ahead before
marriage, I want to go to college, and I
want to get a job and…"

"Stop! I understand okay? Quit crying! You and A.J.
really need to talk about this, he'll know
what to do," she said hugging me as I wiped me eyes.

"Come on let's go," she said as we walked out.
I sat down next to A.J. as everyone was staring at me.

"What?" I asked sniffing.

"You've been crying," Brian said sadly.

"I…I had something in my eye," I said looking away
from everyone hoping they would stop looking.

"Come here," A.J. said pulling me again toward the
bathroom. He set me down in the chair
aside the bathrooms and he sat in front of me.

"What's wrong baby?" He asked sadly. I looked and
saw his saddened eyes as I broke down and
started crying again.

"Nothing I'm fine!" I said putting my hands over my face.

"Baby please tell me, please?" He asked moving my
hands from my face. I couldn't tell him, everytime
I looked at his saddened eyes, or my HUGE ring,
I couldn't!

"Go on A.J., I'll be fine," I said folding my legs
up to my chest.

"Baby, do you not trust me? Are you mad
at me?" He asked as I cried harder.

"I could never be mad at you," I whispered.

"Then what? You know me, I'm not going to leave
until I find out what's wrong," he said kissing my
hands lightly.

"I can't tell you," I said as I saw his
saddened face turn sadder.

"I thought we could tell each other everything…" he said
getting up. I watched him as he walked back to the
table, the guys looking over at me and trying to
comfort A.J.'s saddened face. I had to get out
of there. I got up and walked past the table,
walking past the doors, and walking out the hotel.
I couldn't do it, A.J. was so sad, anything I would
say would depress him even more.

"Jessie!" Belle said running after me.

"I couldn't do it Belle, he looked
so sad! I…I can't!" I said barely breathing.

"Calm down you're hyperventilating!" Belle said as I
breathed heavy. "Come on, let's go back to the hotel,"
she said as I looked over at the table. Everyone was
looking at me; A.J. was playing with his water,
spinning it with his finger. He never glimpsed
over at me, he continued to make me cry.

"Please," I said as we got into a taxi.
I couldn't do it; I'm such a wuss.

"How about this one?" Belle said showing me
another dress. I shook my head and wiped my eyes.

"This one?"

"It's pretty," I said looking at it.

"Consider it a wedding present," she said
taking it up to the register.

"Come on let's go put this on you, you've got a
wedding in 2 hours!" She said as we
walked over to the elevator.

"Thanks," I said sniffing.

"Of course! I'm the maid of honor after all," she said as
I laughed. I put on the dress and Belle curled my hair.
I put on some makeup we bought downstairs and
put on some fancy shoes that went with the dress.

My dress was white and long, it went down to my
ankles. It had a v-neck and a small rose at the
bottom of the dress. My hair was curly, my makeup
perfect. There was no way I could not do
this wedding, I had to, I loved A.J.

"Nick called, they're waiting for you at the chapel," she
said as I nodded. That ride to the chapel was
the longest ride of my life.

"WOW!" They all said as A.J. turned to me.

"Hi," I said to him.

"Hi…can I talk to you?" He asked as I nodded.
"We'll be right back you guys," he said walking me
over to the pay phones. "You look so
beautiful," he said with a grin.

"Baby I'm so sorry for today I…" I tried to talk.

"It's okay, really, I'm sorry too," he said as I gave him
a hug.

"You're not mad or anything?" I asked.
He shook his head as I smiled. "I love you."

"Love you more," he said as I kissed him lightly.
It turned out to be one of those kisses that you
never forget, the 'I'm-so-sorry' kind of kiss.

"Come on you guys, they're calling for
you!" Howie said as our foreheads touched.

"Are you ready to do this?" He asked. I should
have said no, I really should have. Instead, I said…

"More than anything." He took my hand and led me
up the stairs. We got up to the old guy
with a tux as he smiled at me and A.J.

"Are you two the couple?" He asked.

"Yes," A.J. said as Belle walked over
next to me, the guys on A.J.'s side.

"Okay, let's start…" he was interrupted
by the worst thing I could possibly think of…my father.
