Chapter 8
"Mom I can't believe he did it to me again!" Kristy cried.
She
locked herself in her room again, her mom
standing at the door.
"Honey
you should have known he would do
this to you," she said as Kristy cried
harder.
"Mom please go away, please?" She said as she heard her
mom walk away. Kristy couldn't believe everything that happened
actually
did. She had a bruised hand, red eyes, and a
broken heart.
"Kris!"
Nick yelled from the window. "Kris I know you're
there!" Nick said
looking up at the opened window.
"I have nothing to say to the popular
people, I'm a loser
and that's all I can be!" Kristy yelled as Nick sighed.
"Please
come down? I want to talk!" Nick begged. Nothing
happened, Nick looked
at the trellis he used to climb when he
was little and started climbing. He
hoped it was as sturdy as it
used to be, he definitely did NOT want to die.
"Kris,"
Nick said walking into her room.
"Are you crazy? Get out of here!"
Kristy whispered.
Nick looked at how hurt she was, he saddened.
"I
have to talk to you," he said as she sighed.
"I talked to you last
night, there's nothing more to say," she shrugged
laying back down on her
bed. He sighed and sat down
on her desk chair aside her bed.
"I
stopped talking to you in 9th grade because after the dance I
freaked. I could
see us together, it scared me," he explained.
"Then when I realized
what I did it was too late."
"It was never too late," she said
angrily.
"Just let me finish. I know I missed out on a lot of things
in
your life, and I never forgive myself for that, but I know
I want to now."
"What
if I said no?" She asked.
"I know you'd be lying. After what you
told me yesterday I
know you love me, and I love you Kris," Nick said as
she
got up.
"Don't ever say that Nick, get out!" She yelled
as Bridget
knocked on the door.
"Honey who are you talking to?"
"Hi
Ms. Dickinson," Nick said as Kristy opened the door to
her room.
"Nick
I don't think my daughter, or I want you in here,"
she said as Nick sighed.
"I'm
sorry for everything that happened Bridget I just came
to talk to her,"
Nick said as Bridget shook her head.
"Apparently my daughter doesn't
want to talk to you does she?
If you could please leave," Bridget said
cradling her daughter in her
arms.
"Sure," Nick said walking
past them. "Think about what I said
okay?" Nick said as he looked
at Kristy's crying face.
"Bye Nick," Bridget said as he walked down
the stairs and out the door.
He got into his car and drove off home. He
walked in the
door looking for his mom, hoping she'd know what to do.
"Mom
where are you?" He asked as she appeared in front of him.
"What
is it Nick?" Jane asked.
"Yesterday I got stuck in the elevator
with Kristy and we talked
about everything and then I kissed her and then I ignored
her
again and then she punched Tristan and took me to the
stairwell and cried
and told me she hates me and I love her
and I know she loves me but she won't
talk to me what do I
do?" Nick said so fast, though Jane understood everything
he
said.
"Why did you ignore her in the first place?"
"I
was scared that we would do something though we already
did and I want her again,
MOM!" Nick said as she smiled.
"I'll talk to Bridget," Jane
said as Nick sighed.
"You think that will help?"
"It's
a start," she said as Nick nodded.
"Thanks mom."
