Chapter 2
Once we got to the mall, Leslie and Wendy went
ballistic trying to find outfits
for the concert.
Me on the other hand, I was freakin' since my
final
was going to be an F on my college record.
I guess they didn't understand
finals in
college yet, they were pretty stupid at times.
"What about
this one for Ash Wendy?" Leslie asked.
It was leather pants and a white
shirt that
read, 'baby' on it.
"That would look great on you Ash!"
Wendy said
handing it to me.
"I am NOT wearing leather people! Nope,
no way,
NO!" I said handing it back to Wendy.
"We'll wear leather
if you will," Wendy said
handing it back to me.
"We will?"
Leslie said.
"Yes we will!" Wendy said giving Leslie a look.
"Oh
yeah, we will Ash we will!" Leslie nodded.
"Fine you guys, but
only if you do, I'd feel really
stupid okay?" I said going to the dressing
room.
"Leslie is wearing a leather halter-top, I'll wear a leather
skirt,
who could it hurt Ash? Besides, you might get a
date for once in what, 3 years?"
Wendy said.
I came out wearing the pants, I looked at her, "My love
life is mine alone, it's none of your business. What if I
told you what I
really thought of Jon?" I gave
her the evil eye.
"Fine, I'm
just saying, you might meet someone. You
look hot girl, if I was a guy I'd go
for you," she said
as I went back into the dressing room.
"That's
a very scary thought," Leslie said as she came
out with her black halter-top.
She was the model type;
anything on her looked designer even if it was
from
Wal-Mart.
"Wow Les, get it definitely," Wendy said.
Leslie
and I looked at Wendy.
"What?" She asked.
"What about
you, you haven't tried yours on," I said
folding my arms across my chest
and tapping my foot.
"I know mine will fit," Wendy said as she
went to the register.
"How Wendy?" Leslie asked curiously as
we put our
stuff up on the counter to ring up.
"I've...I...I've
put it on before," she said stuttering.
Leslie and I looked at each
other; I looked
back at Wendy, "What for?"
"Jon,"
Wendy said as she took the bag of our clothes.
"I say you guys need
to see each other more
often," Leslie said walking behind Wendy and me.
"I know Les, I know," Wendy said as we
got on the escalator.
"Well, now that we're done,
lets get something to eat! I'm starved!"
Wendy said
desperately trying to change the subject.
"You're always
hungry Wendy!" Leslie said laughing.
"What's going on down there?"
I asked pointing
to a table fun of girls.
"I don't know, let's ask
somebody," Wendy said.
She asked a little girl and came back eager to go
back
over there. "It's the Backstreet Boys! They're here,
at our mall!"
Wendy said jumping up and down.
"Well you go over there, I'm not. Are
you
Leslie?" I asked walking away.
"No," her shyness was
kicking in again.
"I know why Leslie doesn't, but why
don't you?"
Wendy asked.
"Because I think it's rude! They're just trying to
eat
and shop and they get bombarded by all these
people! If I were them I would have
ran away or
something," I said as I started walking away.
I looked
at the guys.
I didn't know who they were, apparently Wendy did.
One
of them stood up.
He was very cute, a blonde, looked about my age.
He
came right at us!
I looked at Leslie; she shook her head stuttering.
"No.I...Ash...I'm..."
that's all I heard out of her mouth.
"It's okay, just stand and act
natural," I said trying to
calm her down.
It really didn't help
that much, but at least I tried.
They started coming our way...
