Chapter 8

Jessie never left her room for the next two days,
she didn't want anything to do with anything, except Jason.


"Today we're talking about threesomes going bad,"
Jerry Springer said on the t.v. She changed the channel.

"Barney and Friends will be back in a moment."
Jessie went into Jason's room and picked him up.

"Hey buddy Barney's on t.v.!" She said as the purple dinosaur
appeared on the t.v. Jason laughed and watched, entranced.
She sighed as she watched the t.v. show she never ever
wanted to watch, but it was Jason's show.

Then a knock was at the door. Jessie sighed and unlocked
the door, opening it to see Nick on the other side with the guys.

"Oh look the doors magically shutting on you!" She said trying
to shut the door. The guys walked in, as A.J. and Brian sat
down aside Jason and watched Barney with him.
Kevin and Howie stood with Nick as Jessie shut the door.

"We need to talk," Kevin said as Jessie rolled her eyes.

"No need, Jason and I are fine without any of you,
especially assholes like you," she said pointing to Nick.

"It wasn't Nick's fault, it was mine," Howie said
as Jessie walked into the kitchen.

"It was your fault he didn't tell me? Your fault he slept with me?
Nope, didn't think so," she said getting Jason's baby food
out of the fridge.

"Look…" Howie said getting frustrated with her.

"No you look! You step into my home, ruin my life,
and you expect me to just forgive you cause you're famous
and strong?" She yelled as Jason started to cry. Brian tried to help
but Jessie took Jason away from him and held him as he
screamed in sadness.

"We are strong aren't we D?" Kevin said as Howie
nodded. They picked Jessie up as she tried not to
scare Jason.

"What are you doing?" She said quietly as they sat her
down on her bed. Nick, A.J., and Brian
followed.

"Hand over the screaming kid," Howie said as Jessie
looked at him angrily.

"You're crazy if you think I'm letting you take my
kid," she said as A.J. rolled his eyes.

"Jessie, Nick was going to hold him," A.J. said as Jessie got up.

"This is crazy, you can't hold me and my son hostage
in my own apartment!" She said as Nick walked up to her.

Nice and calmly and said, "Jason likes me to hold him,
therefore, I was going to hold him as they explain to you this
situation at hand, is that okay?" He asked as she nodded.
She handed her screaming son to Nick as Jason
calmed down and started giggling.

"Make this quick, I don't want to waste my time with Backstreet
Losers," she said folding her arms and sitting
on the bed.

"Nick how do you deal with her?" Brian asked as Jessie mouthed
'fuck you' to him.

"You don't know her like I do," Nick said as Jessie
rolled her eyes.

"Please, soon you're going to make your own Hallmark
card with your sweet words, they do know good to me.
I'm done with you, Jason and me both," she said lying to
herself.

"You know that's not true," Nick said kissing Jason's head.

"Don't do that! I don't know where your lying
mouth has been…"

"SHUT UP!" Howie said as Jason started crying again.
Nick bounced him up and down and calmed him back
down.

"Excuse me 'D', but this is my home and I…"

"I don't give a rat's ass! Just listen
okay?" Howie interrupted.

"Whatever," she said crossing her legs impatiently.

"Okay, here it goes. Nick was lonely on his way to New
York, he promised us he'd meet the girl of his dreams,
the girl he'd love forever and ever. Me? I never would
think that would happen, so yes, I bet him 200 bucks. But
then he met you, and he was blown away. He forgot the
whole bet all together, even saved me 200 dollars. He
loves you and he deserves a damn chance. He never
leaves us alone about you," Howie said as Jessie
looked at Nick.

"Is this true?"

"Everything," he said bouncing Jason up and down.

"My work here is done, comes guys, let's go. Nick we'll meet
you in the van," Howie said as the guys walked out the door.
Nick just looked at her and she looked at him.

"I gotta go, we're going back to Florida," Nick said handing
Jason to Jessie.

"Oh…okay," she said nodding. He laughed and looked at her.

"Howie has never yelled at a girl before, you can
really piss people off," Nick said as she grinned.

"It's the New York gift," she said as Nick smiled.

"Well, I'm off, bye Jason," Nick said kissing Jason's
forehead. "Bye Jess, I mean Jessie," he said correcting
himself. He walked to the apartment door and looked at her.
He walked back as Jessie put Jason down and
hugged him hard.

"I'm sorry," she said as he held her.

"No I'm sorry," he said kissing her head as he held her.
He kissed her hard and kissed her cheek before letting her
go. "I'll call you everyday, and I'll sent you tons of plane
tickets so you and Jason can come see me and I can see you…"

"Nick?" She said putting her finger over his lips.
"I love you," she said hugging him again as Jason giggled on the bed.

"I love you too little guy!" Nick said lifting Jason up
and hugging him. Nick was finally happy, and so was Jessie.
