Chapter 5
RING! My phone rung into my ears causing me to jump.
"What?"
I whined lying back down and trying to go back to sleep.
"Gee I love
you too," Nick said as I looked over at my clock.
"Nick it's…it's
6 in the evening what are you doing calling me?"
"Well what are
you doing asleep?"
"I'm making up for last night!" I whined
covering my face with a pillow.
"You didn't call me and tell me how everything
went," he said sadly.
"I'm sowwy," I said with a small grin,
"I know I passed, I only
guessed on like 3 of them," I said as I heard
Nick clapping.
"You're coming with us tonight right? Promise? Please
say yes!" Nick pleaded.
"Of course, I have my bags and everything
packed already,
have you talked to Krys yet?" I asked petting Boomer's
head.
"Yeah, she's kinda talking to me, but she still thinks something's
going on,"
he said as I grinned.
"Where she got that from is
far beyond me," I said with a sinister grin on my face.
"Listen
I gotta go, be ready by nine, both of you! My two favorite
girls are coming
with me, woo hoo!" Nick cheered as I
sighed.
"Psycho boy, talk
to you tonight," I said with a laugh hanging up.
I rolled over and looked
up at the crack in my ceiling. It's
something I do when I get bored or I need
to concentrate. I
sighed and threw the covers over my head, falling back to
sleep
almost instantly.

Later that night, I went to the
college and went to my
astrology class, to look for my final grade.
"Nice
to see you Ms. Caisse," Professor Thomas said as I
grinned.
"You
too, um…I'm leavin in an hour for 3 months and I wanted
to know if I could see
my grade in advance?" I asked.
"I don't know, I might now have
graded it yet," he said putting on
his reading glasses.
"Let's
look through," he said skimming through. "Here it is."
"Oh
what is it!?!" I pleaded.
"Well…" he said looking at the paper,
"You got an A."
"YES!" I yelled hugging him happily and
running out of the classroom.
~*~*~*~
"Where have you been?"
Krystal asked me as Nick looked at me.
"Nick I got an A on my final!"
I yelled as he hugged me happily.
"I didn't think we studied that well
did you?" He asked with a laugh.
"I know!" I laughed.
"What
happened?" Krystal asked as I smiled happily.
"I was failing Astrology,
and if I failed it I would have had to go
back home with my mom in Montana, so
Nick helped me
and I got an A!" I said happily.
"Wow! Nick
I didn't know you were that good with the
constellations and stuff," Krys
said as he shrugged.
"It's a gift," he said as we laughed. "Are
we ready to go?"
"I'm ready!" Krys said.
"Let
me get my bags and I'll be ready!" I said running to my
room. I saw Boomer's
sad little face as my smile
turned to a frown. "Hey Boomer."
"Do
you need any help?" Nick asked walking
in as he saw my sad face. "What's
wrong?"
"Poor Boomer is alone for 3 months, my brother's coming
to
feed it but he's all alone," I said picking him up and kissing
his
head.
"Why doesn't Boomer come with us?" He asked as I looked at
him.
"Really?"
"Yeah of course! I mean what's a trip
without a dog right?"
Nick asked as I smiled.
"Thanks Nick!"
I said hugging him. "Thanks for everything."
"Of course,
I'd do anything for you, you know that," he said
softly as my heart melted.
"Can
you take Boomer with you to the car? I gotta get my bags
and Boomer's food,"
I said handing Boomer to Nick. I grabbed
my stuff and shut my apartment door,
locking it behind me and
throwing my bags in the back. Nick handed me Boomer
as we got in
the car.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"New
York, then on a plane to England," Nick said as Boomer
fell asleep on my
lap. I looked over at Krys, who had Nick's right
hand entwined with hers.
"I've
always wanted to go to England," I said with a sigh. I looked
out the window,
remembering the kiss Nick and I shared…it was
driving me nuts! I had to talk
to him about it, I had to!
~*~*~*~
"Here we are, the airport,
going to England!" Nick said happily.
"Nick calm down, we've been
there before," Kevin said as Nick rolled his eyes.
"Party pooper,"
Nick said as I grinned.
"How long is the wait?" Howie asked as
we all looked at Lou.
"We have about an hour wait, so get comfy,"
Lou said as everyone whined.
"Well I'm hungry, I'm getting something
to eat," Nick said walking away as I followed him.
"Nick? Can we
talk?" I asked.
"What about?" He asked looking for a vending
machine.
"Yesterday, on the roof," I said as he stopped.
"The
kiss?" He asked as I nodded. "What about it?"
"Well
I…" I looked in his heart-filled eyes, "I wanted to ask what it felt to
you."
"It was a mistake Maranda, you didn't mean it and I was so
confused about Krystal, it didn't mean anything," he said as I nodded.
"Oh…okay,"
I said as he sighed.
"Where's some food around here?" He whined
as he continued walking.
"I'm going to go to the bathroom," I said
running to the bathroom.
I sat down on the tiled floor and looked around, 'It
meant
everything,' I thought to myself. Tears rolled down my cheeks, as
I
knew that I'd have to get over Nick, whether I liked it or not.
