I read the book Speech, Language & Listening problems and diagnosed the problem myself. The psychologist told us that their was nothing wrong with my son and we needed to be stricter with him. My husband and I disagreed and when I read this book , I took my son to an audiologist and they confirmed it that he had CAPD.

My son is really hard to understand and when the speech audiologist did his CAPD test they had to put him in a room like they take your hearing test and put headsets on him and he pointed to the picture instead of saying the words because he is so hard to understand.

One of my son teachers ask if we applyed for SSI and I said no and his teacher said that I should so me and my husband did and my son got approved for SSI.

TLC-- My gripe is that they put these kids in these classes with no IEP as how to get them out. The IEP should mention strategies that eventually will get these kids back to regular clasess within 2-3 years.
