As I have found, most of the repair shops located at or near the big truck stops across the country don't provide a quality service, they are mostly out to make that quick $$$$. I have seen radios that didn't work or had numerous other problems besides the original problem after they walked out the door of the truck stop repair shop. This is ridiculous and doesn't promote good service and a guarantee that the radio will be brought back in the future. Once again, its the quick $$$$. I own 2 RCI 2950's, a HR 2510, a Washington Base and a Yaesu 101E (the Yaesu I bought brand new a zillion yrs ago!) and my Oldest Boy (not soon-to-be-Son-in-Law) But Jeremy said Dad that 148 is the BEST radio you own bar none!!! Stoney old son you are one hell of a techie and Jerry you are quite the sales gal. The nice thing is that you did everything you said you would do and more. Even though we are so far apart in distance I feel that you will be right there for me, when I have a question to ask.

working but was on the road for four day's the radio is great everything
you said it would be i had one problem with the antenna the swr's were
really hi so i tried a fiberglass 4ft. tunable whip and was able to get
it down to 1.1 and it is putting out great i'm going to mount the wilson
on my suv 2 of my co workers are real impressed with this radio and are
interested i gave them your website and told them to look you up almost
evey one i talk to on the road ask's what kind of radio i'm running
because it sound's great again i'm glad i found your website and did my

Jerri and Robert, As you know I got my new General Grant last week, and after taking some time to figure it all out and set my SWR I'm proud to report it works great!!
Thank you very much for all the extra effort you both have put into getting, selling, and tuning my new radio it has been a real pleasure doing business with you guys! During one our first phone conversations Jerri, I told you that around six years ago When I had first started driving a semi I was 21 years old and had never had a radio besides a stock out of the box Cobra 29, (great radio).
Once I got out and started finding out all the options there was for radio's I must say that I met some less then honest Tech's, salesmen etc at C.B. shops all over the states.
Now don't get me wrong, I did meet a few good ones that treated me good, but never one that treated me as good as you two have over the last few weeks. And NEVER ONE THAT MADE A RADIO SOUND SO GOOD!
I'm really glad that I stumbled across your web page (great page I must say) and that I decided to do business with you guys, the price was great and the end product was even better.
I don't drive over the road anymore as I mentioned I'm now a material supervisor and I deal with suppliers all day long, My thought is that if more people thought like you two the business world would have a lot more satisfied customers like me. I can probably count the times in my life on my fingers that I walked away from a business deal feeling like I had made a new friend, this would be one of them.
Well guess what I sent Stoney an Email this morning too, I'm typing this after being up all night without sleep because I got my first DX connection, I got my "SWR" set and went on sideband, the conditions were right and I talked to a gentleman in Southern Arizona, one from Arkansas, and one from Iowa, they all said my radio sounded great.
Man what a rush it was to actually be able to get back and talk to all those voices I've always heard in there but could never reach! Thank you so much. I have a hard time convincing guys that I'm mobile, they all think I'm sitting up on a hill in my house Talking on a powerful base or something, the radio sounds so clear and loud!!! I went down to channel 19 and I was not only hearing the interstate traffic ( 22 miles away ) I keyed the mic and they heard me. Man I never got that with any other radio.
Well I'm gonna sign off now, but not before saying thank you once again it has been a great pleasure doing business with you!!! And Stoney, you are one hell of a Tech!!!
Ohh, I almost forgot, my Father heard my radio and now he wants one, talked yesterday he will probably be wanting to order it at the end of the month!!!! So I'll keep you posted.

Hello, Well I figured out the echo on this radio. Still having trouble with swr's got it down to 2.5, The roger beep on this one starts out as a donkey fart then has a real short beep at the end.It sounds really neat! Did you make it do that? Besides being the biggest radio around everyone knows me because of the "fart-beep" I have had alot of people ask me how I make it do that and I tell them to talk to you. I LOVE THIS RADIO!!!! I was talking on 19 the other nite to a big base about 55 miles from my house and he asked me what kind of base set up I was talking on because I was walking all over the base's in the town between us. When I told him I was in my truck with a little 225 helper he didnt believe me. We got to talking and I told him what tow truck i drive and it turned out that I was at his house last week picking up his car that broke down. He sure liked the radio. I asked him if he ever looked on the net for c.b.'s and he said yes so I asked him if he has ever seen your site, he said yes again so I told him that the radio came from you. His response was "judgeing by the way that radio talks I can believe everything he says about his radios!!

BEWARE OF SOME TRUCK STOPS THEY ARE THERE TO MAKE MONEY, IN AND OUT THEY WILL NOT TAKE THE TIME IT TAKES TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR RADIO. MORE OFTEN THEY WILL TRY AND TALK YOU INTO A NEW RADIO.
IF YOU WANT A MOD PUT IN CHECK IT OUT AFTER TO MAKE SURE THEY ACTUALLY PUT ONE IN HALF THE TIME THEY DON'T WORK. THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT ALL CB SHOPS ARE TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF, BY ALL MEANS NO, HOWEVER THEY ARE FAR AND FEW BETWEEN.
THE REASON I KNOW THIS TO BE FACT, IS A CB SHOP AT A TRUCK STOP WANTED TO HIRE ME AS THEIR TECH. THE PERSON WHO OWNED THIS SHOP ALSO OWNED THE TRUCK STOP. HE STATED HE HAD HEARD A LOT OF GOOD STUFF ABOUT ME FROM SOME OF THE TRUCKERS WHO HAD GIVEN HIM MY CARD. AFTER TALKING WITH HIM I DISCOVERED THAT WHAT HE WANTED ME TO DO WAS PEAK,& TUNE, MODIFY THE RADIOS AND MORE IMPORTANT, SELL NEW RADIOS WITH THE MODS INSTALLED. FIXING RADIOS WAS NOT ENCOURAGED NOR WAS IT PROFITABLE HE SAID. TO MY DISMAY I TOLD HIM I HAD A VERY LARGE FOLLOWING AND THAT I WAS FIXING THEIR RADIOS FOR YEARS
WHAT HE SAID WAS, GREAT!!!! IF I WANTED TO FIX A RADIO THE FEE WOULD BE $35.00 AN HOUR. PLUS PARTS. THAT WOULD GIVE ME SOMETHING TO DO DURNING SLOW TIMES. I CAN'T REPEAT WHAT I TOLD HIM HERE.

Words just can't explain how much I love the refurb Galaxy 88 I got from you. I get so many compliments on the way it sounds and I always tell them to contact you if they want a REAL radio. I know my set up (Galaxy 88, Galaxy 225 amp, 4ft. firestick) isn't the best DX set up but I sure seem to be able to talk to whoever I want and over a lot of loud radios who are trying to contact the same person.
Last Sunday about 10:30 am on 27,485 LSB I heard a faint voice saying to go to 27,490 LSB for international DX, I could tell he was along way away and I probably didn't have a chance in hell of reaching him but figured why not try. I switched over and started calling for 111 and his reply was "OK I here a lot of people calling for me but the only one I can make out for sure is 948 Central Texas, USA in the mobile so I will talk to the loudest one-first and everyone else please stand by, Go ahead 948." I have to tell you I felt 10 feet tall when I heard him say that! We talked awhile and found out he was in Luccas Italy and his name was Peter. This was my farthest DX yet. As you can tell I'm sold on your expert work. I will be stuffing ol'piggy bank for a base set up next. What is your opinion on the RCI 2990? Sorry for the long note, I seem to ramble on when it comes to talking about the great radio I got from you. I hope your feeling better and will talk to you later. As he said in Italy.
