Believable Picnic is a band with an unusual name, a distinctive sound and an impressive musical pedigree. Guitarist/vocalist, Jade Hanson, is the older brother of Joel Hanson, the frontman of the highly successful Christian rock band PFR. Jade is joined by the rhythm section of bassist, Jason Burkum and keyboardist Nick Ayres.
The trio's style is an innovative blend of Beatlesque harmonies, alternative rock energy, and guitar driven power and precision. Their sophomore release, Welcome to the Future, on Absolute Records appeals to fans of rock and alternative music alike.
Believable Picnic's first single, from their eponymously titled debut album, "Wasted," went to #1 after 14 weeks on the Christian Radio Rock Charts. Their video and single "Big Fat Nothing" received airplay nationwide; the music video reached #1 on Z-Music Television, and the song reached top 5 status on the rock charts.
Believable Picnic was nominated (along with dc Talk, Rebecca St. James, Newsboys) for the "Best Christian Album" in the prestigious Nashville Music Awards.
"We want to be real in a world of glossed-over easy answers; to look at the world as Jesus saw it and to let the world see Jesus in our music and lifestyles. Our primary goal is to encourage and motivate other Christians as we strive to speak to non-believers in a language they understand, so that they can know the freedom and joy that come from a real relationship with Christ." - Believable Picnic
