Ghoti Hook, a Washington D.C. area 4 piece Rock 'n Roll band with a pop/punk vibe, has been together since the fall of 1991. They have built a following in the north eastern states, particularly in Pennsylvania. Recently back from their 7th national tour, plans are in the works to continue touring this summer and fall.
Their debut full-length album entitled, "Sumo Surprise" was released by Tooth & Nail Records, an independent Seattle label, in July '96. Their follow up is entitled "Banana Man," now being distributed through EMI's distribution. The single "Love By The Numbers" has received some radio airplay in CMJ markets.
Several Ghoti Hook songs from "Banana Man" and "Sumo Surprise" have been featured on various MTV shows including MTV Sports and The Dennis Rodman World Tour. Their song "Scared Am I" has been used in a Squirt beverage commerical. Reebok used "Bodyjuggler" on a basketball shoe advertisement.
Ghoti Hook has just finished up their third full length effort entitled "Songs We Didn't Write," which is a compilation of the band's favorite and most influential musicians songs. It is due out in September of '98. Included on the record are songs by the Pixies, X, The Vindictives, The Dead Milkmen, Joan Jett, New Order, Elvis, Willie Nelson, Stavesacre and others.
Plans for the future include extensive national touring and hopefully a trip to europe!
