From southern California comes a trio that is emerging as one of today's top modern rock groups. the kry, made up of Yves Lajoie, Jean Luc Lajoie and Pete Nelson, states that the driving motivation behind their music is the hope that they might have an impact in the world around them. The manner in which they do this can best be described as non-traditional. Making their home in the heart of much of today's "X generation" music industry, they come with a bold, unique musical style. Without fanfare and blowing trumpets, the kry is assuredly making a difference. Keeping with their non-traditional physique, the kry has developed a devoted contingent and buzz among interested onlookers in the music industry by delivering four diverse albums to date and touring throughout the world.
So how did these three team up? Once again...non-traditional. Jean Luc and Yves, two French Canadian brothers from Quebec City did not even speak English when they came to the States. Pete, an American from, of all places, Albuquerque, New Mexico, never spoke French (and probably never will). After hooking up with Pete and playing in a youth and college band, these three began receiving inquiries from established record labels. This led to a demo project. Within months, the demo turned into a record label agreement and the kry was born! Now, four years and four albums later, the kry remains true to the vision to which they believed they are called -- reaching our searching generation with music that communicates to the needs of today.
The best place to fully experience the kry is to catch them live. It is only live that you can fully capture the personality and message behind their music. One glimpse of the kry live and you'll recognize their undeniable live talent as a band. They have been active touring throughout the world including the United States, Russia, Hungary, Yugoslavia, England, Australia, Albania, Israel and France.
