Value Pac

Value Pac is a band not to be pigeonholed. Leaning towards more punk influences, Value Pac is best described as a 90's power-pop Rock 'n' Roll band that can at anytime lash-out with a ska breakdown here, or fly with an insanely fast power chord there without losing a step on getting their infectious melodies hooked on anyone who happens to be listening.

Hailing from Orange County, California, Value Pac began in 1995 under the name One By One originally with Ryan Sheely and Ben Cater. Ryan and Ben had known each other in high school and eventually hooked up with Isaiah to make the trio complete. After writing some songs and cutting a demo, Branden Ebel of Tooth and Nail Records flew down for a session, and thus they were signed days later.

VP has gone through many transformations. First being their name. Original fans have known them as One by One which had come as inspiration from a verse in the book of Isaiah. But there was another 80's band with the same name so that was taken. Then there was One Bye One which is what VP had first appeared as on Tooth and Nail's punk/emo sampler vol. 1. But that name was still too close, thus a couple more names were thrown around such as Berserk, but that was also taken by another punk band. Still more variations. Then Value Pack. Then finally VALUE PAC.

After releasing their self-titled debut album and completing their first full national tour, Isaiah decided to leave the band and therefore giving Sean Humeston the chance to step in as bassist. Isaiah departed on good terms with VP to fulfill his goal to continue his schooling as a pastor/youth leader. Having only a couple of weeks to learn all the material, Sean filled in the role as bassist well, as VP departed on their national tour with the Supertones.

Having toured with the likes of the Supertones, MxPx, TenFootPole, Blink-182 and many others, including headlining their own tours, Value Pac moved to BEC Recordings in preparation for their release of "Jalapeno." Better distrobution was the key as BEC is a sub-label to the larger EMI Record Co. which gave VP distrobution anywhere and everywhere.

Now as VP goes through yet another change, Ben Cater has also decided to leave VP to continue his schooling. As the new drum spot is filled, Value Pac will keep churning out incredible melodic and hook laden songs that all have grown to love.
