"So many people have created Christ in their image for the last 2,000 years that finding the original one is complicated. There are many barriers in the way, quite apart from the conception of a man who is a God which is difficult. I am reading the Gospels at the moment and I can find no evidence of the kind of Christ people seem to have invented and created. There is no evidence of Christ, meek and mild. I can find Christ the compassionate, the gentle, but I also find a very temperamental, aggressive, passionate and often angry man a lot of the time. We'll go for a man with that sort of breadth who is an enormous figure. I do believe Christ lived as a person, I don't think there is any disputing that."

"I had to carry this cross that was killing me and by the end of the day, it felt like 600 pounds but still, we went to Mass everyday, I took Eucharist everyday, I got into my role, so during the last supper scenes that were happening, we were going through that everyday in Mass. This is a Jesus and Mother love and the greatest love story. It either does something to you or it doesn't, it is either part of your bag or it's not, but I tell you what it does do. It says: You know, you will be judged ferociously."
