Heavenly Father:
I come to you with a few packet of seeds and a spade in hand
To plant new life in Diane Wuchevich's garden here.
I am one of many who are tilling new ground
Looking for the earth to yield back its bounty
And share a little of its silent wisdom.
Yet nothing blooms without Your Light
Your quiet, beneficient Fatherly gaze
Bringing all that is good to life
And pruning back all that inhibits truth growth.
We take a moment. Put down our tools
To invoke Your higher power
To take the gifts that we bring
And make good use of them.
Bless our hostess.
Bless each person who comes in from the cold.
May Your peace unfold in our hearts with each beat
And nourish the ground we till.
Through Your Son, Christ Jesus,
Amen
and with the dinner gong, it's time to eat.
