The Glitter Path

This is a very special prayer that Roger wrote for Melissa, my niece, when she first got sick with the cancer. Thank you, Roger, I shall always treasure the glitter path, and as I've said before, you, my friend, are published in the hearts of many and that is the only true success in life. May you always be blessed.

God,

The sun is setting over the lake,
a little lake so still
that Peace itself
might make this its home

And casts upon the water
a glittering path:

reflecting every color
Reds and golds and silvers
against the blackness

in the water
which even in stillness
is moving, moving...

A path that follows us
as we walk along the edge.

Is this not the way
we will find our way to You,

from the first timid steps
to the full stride
across the water
and into
the heart of Your Heart?

Or stand on the shore,
and just watch again
as the glitter path
narrows in the nightfall

and wait for the end
of another day

Knowing the path will appear
again to light our way.
