Howie comes walking in, all sweaty and tired from practice. Krista and I just stood there smiling. He was wearing blue sweatpants and a muscle shirt with Nike sneaks. He looked up and smiled.
"Hey!" He said walking toward me and he gave me a hug.
"Hi" I said with a million doller smile on my face. He went over to Krista and gave her a hug too.
Then I heard Brian and Nick clowning around outside. They came in next. They were both wearing grey sweatpants and white T-shirts.
Brian noticed my presents first. "Tessa right?" He asked with his eyes naerrowed at me.
"Yea" I said smiling. He came over and gave me a hug.
Nick was just standing in the corner waiting his turn. I turned to him and said "Well don't be shy!" He walked to me and gave me a warm and friendly hug. I thought I was gonna melt in his arms like butter.
"There she is!" shouted someone from the doorway. It was AJ, "Miss Tessa!"
I laughed and walked towards him. "How are ya Girl?" He asked as he gave me a hug.
"Good" I said. We all sat in a circle on the floor. I looked around. "Where's Kevin?"
Just then "Michale" took off his hat and sunglasses to reviele kevin.
"See Tess?" Krista said "I knew that was Kevin!" I gave him a hug too.
"You should of heard them in the Limo" Kevin was explaining as he sat down. They were singing all our songs on the top of their lungs and screaming out the windows!" They all laughed.
"So girls" Brian said as he was scratching his face, "How was your flight?"
"Good" I said "Krista was sleeping all the way and I was listening to my stereo"
"Yea" Krista agreed "I still can't believe we are here With the Backstreet Boys!"
"Yea" I said "This is a dream come true for me. You don't know how much you guys had helped me through the past year or two"
"Well" AJ said "We're glad to have you here. Now Nick and Kevin won't be fighting so much now that there's girls to fight over"
"Very funny" Nick said smiling at me. I smiled a sexy smile back.
We all talked for a little while longer when Dennis, the stage manager came in. "Everyone" he said "Dinner is served in the cafeteria" He scratched his brown hair covered head and left.
"C'mon guys" Nick said getting up "FOOD!!!" I laughed and followed him, Howie, Kev and Brian to the Cafeteria as Krista and AJ staggered behind talking about.....stuff (use your imagination)
There was a huge buffet of stuff to eat like chicken, pizza, yogurt, fruit, corn etc. We all got our food and sat down at the table. While I was walking to the table, Nick slipped on a banana peel (who knew?) and fell over, spilling food and all. I turned around and knew he was embarassed. I put my plate on the table and helped him up. He laughed and said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek . I felt like I was in heaven.
We all sat down at the blue table.
"So Tess and Krista" Howie said scooping up some mashed potatoes "Do you guys play and sports in College?"
"Well" I said after taking a swig of Pepsi "I was captain of the soccer team, I play Basketball and I play Lacrosse too. I dont know about Krista...Krista?"
She was making googoo eyes with AJ across the table.
"Huh" she snapped back into reality "What did you say Tessa?"
I rolled my eyes at Kevin "Nevermind" Kevin just smiled and ate his chicken leg.
"Basketball huh?" Brian said actully interested in the convo now.
"Yea " I said picking at my roll
"What postiton?" He asked me smiling
"Center" I said
"Good, maybe we can play together sometime" He suggested
"Yea, that would be great!"
"So what time do you guys have to leave to practice?" Krista asked eating some salad.
"Ummm...." Kev said looking at his watch. "We should go now guys...it's 6"
"Yea I guess we should" Nick said glumly. He smiled at me as he left.
"Bye girls, nice meeting you" AJ said smiling at us.
They left. A short woman, about 30 with blond hair and brown eyes came in with a warm smile. She was wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt.
"Hi" she said "I'm Jess Kippell, I'm Stage assistant to Donna Wright. She asked me to settle you in the Tour Bus."
"Hi" I said getting out of my seat. I walk over to her. "I'm Tessa and this is Krista"
"Hi Krista" Jess said. "Ok now We'll carry out your bags to the Bus and then you can watch the concert ok?''
"Ok" Krista and I said. We got ur bags and walked to the back of the Colesiem.
"How was your trip?" Jess asked as we walked to the back parking lot.
"It was good. I slept the whole way." Jess laughed.
We walked through double doors to the Bcakstreet Bus. It was incredalbe from the outside. It was about 60 feet long, silver and it big, blue, bold lettering "MILLENIUM" was written across it.
"Would you girls like to come inside?" She asked. We laughed.
"It's just so big!" Krista said
Jess just smiled. The driver opened the door for us. He was a middle aged man, brown eyes and the bluest eyes I've ever seen He was earing a grubby Yankee Baseball Cap. He was reading a magazine when we entered the bus.
"Hey Dave" Jess said giving him a peck on the cheek
"Hi Jess" he said
"These are the contest winners" Jess said introducting us "Tessa Miller and Krista Lee"
"Hello Girls" He said tipping his hat
"Hi Dave" We said.
"Well" Jess said "This is the bus"
The bus was gorgeous! It had a mini kitchen with a black microwave, cupboards and marble counter tops. It had 2 tables on the side. There was 8 beds (like the ones on trains) but they had drawers built in the bottoms of them.
"You girls get these two" she announced pointing at the top and bottom bunks on the end.
"Ok" I said.
Then there was a shower on the left and a bathroom on the right.
"What's in that door?" Krista asked pointing to the door at the end of the bus.
Jess looked down there. "C'Mon, I'll show you!" She lead us down the aisle and opened the door. There was a TV&VCR and Nintendo set up in there with a mini-Sofa and a chair.
"So this is like the entertainment room?" I analigised.
"Yea" Jess replied
We walked out of the room. "You guys can start unpacking and then I'll take you back to the concert."
Krista and I unloaded our suitcases. I looked over at Krista as she unpacked. I noticed she was unpacking MY blue Baby-Tee that she borrowed 3 months ago.
"Hey" I whispered "Isn't that MY t-shirt"
Kris looked down guiltly "Oh, I don't know how it got there!" she said defending herself. I just laughed.
A 1/2 hour later we were done. "Ok" Jess said smaking her hands together "Let's roll!!!" so with that we left the bus and went back inside.
I could hear even from the entrance doors thousands of girls screaming and chanting "Backstreet Boys".
"Wow!" I shouted "This is what I must have sounded like at my BSB concerts!"
Jess and Kris laughed. We headed backstage just as the 1st opening act began to play. Kevin was sitting in a make up chair getting the finishing touches of his make up done. He saw me and smiled. Brian, Howie and Nick were harmonizing to the song "Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonley". When they were done, Krista and I clapped and cheered. They looked back and laughed. "Than you, Thank you" Brian and Nick said bowing.
But were was AJ? Right behind us ready to scare us. I saw him from the corner of my eye and turned aound. "Shhh" He said aiming for Kris. I nodded as Krista just looked around at all the comotion.
"AHHHHH!!!!!" Aj screamed as he grabbed krista from the waist. She shreaked. Krista turned around to see AJ there, smiling cheerfully.
"You Idiot!" Krista said as she punched him in the arm playfully.
"OWWW!" He yelled exagerating.
"Ok People People" yelled Donna. She was dressed in all black and was holding her clipboard. "We are ready to begin!"
The BSB got together to do their routine song (if you're a real fan, you'd know what it is) and took their positions under the stage.
"Good luck" We yelled but we didn't think they hezard us over the screaming girls. Nick and Kevin did and yelled "Thanks!"
The concert was a blast! They shot out of the trap doors and startd sing "That's the way I like it". I was so happy to be there, I started to cry. During intermission, Aj and Krista were talking. Krista was leaned against the back wall and AJ was leaning his elbow on the wall. I was trying to spy behind a curtain but Brian caught me in the act.
"Ya know" He said leaning over me behind the curtain "It's not nice to spy on their convo's"
I turned to him and smiled "I can't help it" I replied "I'm naturally nosy"
Nick came up behind us and said "What are you guys doing?"
"SHHHH" Brian and I said to him, but AJ and Krista already heard us and moved away.
"DAMN" I said looking at Nick angrily
"Sorry" he smiled. Who could resist a face like that.
"It's ok" I said smiling at him.
Then I heard a voice saying to me "Tess?" I turned around to see Donna.
"Hi Donna!" I said giving her a hug
"Hey!" She yelled "How do you like the concert so far?"
I tied my shoe and said "It's great. These next 7 weeks are gonna be the best time of my life! Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!"
"It's the least we could do" She replied "After reading how the BSB's music has hepled you get through our sister's and Grandfather's untimely deaths, that made us at the station realize how much the BSB means to you."
Howie heard the whole thing while he was getting his make up touched up. "That's why I felt there was something in common between us!" he thought to himself.
Intermission was over. The rest of the concert was great! They sung "Back to your heart (my fav song)", "Larger than life", "Show me the meaning...", "Don't Want You Back" and a whole lot more. There was about 15 min. left and Krista and I left cuz we were tired. We walked out to the bus and was let in by Dave. We smiled at him as we walked past.
"Let's get or PJ's on" Krista suggested. I went into the bathroom and slipped on my red flanned boxer shorts and my white long-sleeved Tee. Krista put on purple flannel bottoms and a white tank top.
We sat at one of the tables. I started to write in my diary. Krista took out a piece of paper and started to write to her family.
We heard the boys come in all tired. We got up to congradulate them. AJ and Krista went into the back to talk. No one knows what they talked about while being up 1/ 2 the night that first night.
We all said our good-nights (well except AJ and Krista of course) and went to bed. I wrote in my diary: Thank you god for always believeing me. Thank you for giving me the strengh and will to move on from the tradegies I've faced in life. Thank you for helping me each my goal to meet the BSB. I know I'm gonna have the time of my life on this trip. And it's all because of you. I'll always have faith in myself. Thank you and goodnight
