Friskyangel's World
Hi, my name is Susan. I am 36 years
old and have lived my entire life in a
small Alabama town. Until June of
'99, most of my time was spent doing
crafts and reading an awful lot. Then I
got a webtv, and my life has changed
dramatically. Now I still read and I
still do crafts, but I live and breathe
the internet. An addict? I suppose, but
I don't view that as a bad thing. The
friends I have made on the net are so
important to me--they are always there
to lend an ear when I have troubles, and
I try to reciprocate.
One of the most telling experiences
about internet friends was also one of
the most profound: being on a limited
income, I had to buy the webtv one
month, and wait to buy the keyboard the
next. While struggling to keep up in
one of the chat rooms, a sweet lady
there offered to send me an extra
keyboard she just had lying around--I
was dumbfounded--all you ever hear about
are the horror stories online, and here
was a total stranger offering to ship
me, free of charge, a keyboard to make
my life easier. She refused any offer
of money--I just couldn't believe it!!
That was when I knew I had entered a
wondrous world, and knew my life had
changed forever--thanks angel!!!
