Crabs Scissors (Kani Basami)

This is a takedown that has been made illegal in judo last year but is very effective against opponents of all sizes.

This can be done from almost any standing position but we started locked up.
It makes it easier to complete this takedown if you pull on the back of your opponents neck so that he will pull back and set up your takedown.

You then step out to the side so that you and your opponent are facing the same direction. You should also try to keep a good grip on your opponent's shoulder.
Now throw your right leg across the front of his hip and your left behind his knee. Make sure you jump into this position because if your legs are too low you can hurt your opponent's knees.

Then w/ a scissor action push back w/ your right leg and forward w/ your left leg while laying onto your back this should make him topple backward and if not see Crab Scissors w/ a Twist

Then you are in a great postition to throw your left leg back over his legs and get a knee bar.
To apply it make sure his knee is facing your groin and squeeze your knees together and raise your hips while pulling his heel towards your face
