Chapter 1<bR><bR>

I sat at the edge of the stage watching my precious Nick charm his way into the hearts of over 17,000 screaming fans. I had been watching Nick since the day of his birth 19 years ago. Being his guardian angel, that was my job.<bR><bR>
Afterwards, back at the hotel my teacher David, also an angel, paid me a visit as Nick was getting ready for bed.<bR><bR>
David- "Hey, how's it going?"<bR><bR>
Me- "Just fine, he's safe and sound."<bR><bR>
David- "For now anyway." I looked at him questioningly.<bR><bR>
Me- "What do you mean ‘for now’?"<bR><bR>
David- "The elder women is seeing signs. She says he is about to suffer great pain."<bR><bR>
Me- "When? When will it start?"<bR><bR>
David- "You know the elder women cannot predict time, only event. I just wanted to warn you so you'll be prepared."<bR><bR>
Me- "Prepared for what?"<bR><bR>
David- "For the greatest test of your life."<bR><bR>
Me- "But, David I-." Before I could finish, he vanished.<bR><bR>              
What did he mean the greatest test of my life? I had a life that went on forever. But my prime concern at this point was not myself. I was more worried about Nick and this pain he was supposed to go through. The last thing I wanted for him to get hurt in any way.<bR><bR>
I sat in awe as I watched him sleep. Even though he was a human, he had the most beautiful angelic look to his face. Blue eyes that sparkled like safire diamonds, blond hair and a smile that could make your heart melt in seconds. What was to come, I had no idea. But the one thing I did know is that I had to do everything in my power to see him threw it safely.<bR><bR>
The next day, after I saw Nick to rehearsal, I made a trip back to heaven to talk to the elder women.<bR><bR>
Elder Women- "Good morning child."<bR><bR>
Me- "Morning. I was hoping I could speak with you. About-."<bR><bR>
Elder Women- "Your Nick. I knew you would come. Please, sit down." I sat across from her.<bR><bR>
Elder Women- "Your Nick is close to suffering great turmoil. His life is about to take a major turn."<bR><bR>
Me- "I'm an angel. His angel. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?"<bR><bR>
Elder Women- "Yes, you are an angel and under normal circumstances there would be ways to prevent it. But the time for that had passed."<bR><bR>
Me- "What do you mean under ‘normal circumstances’? What's different?"<bR><bR>
Elder Women- "While things may be calm on the outside, there is a storm coming."<bR><bR>
Me- "Your talking about weather? Well, it's sunny today, does this storm have anything to do with what's gonna happen to Nick?"<bR><bR>
Elder Women- "The storm is raging inside of you, my daughter. Your feeling for him have changed and your affection for him has grown stronger."<bR><bR>
Me- "That's ridiculous. There's no way that can be true."<bR><bR>
"She's never been wrong, Kimberly." I turned around and saw David behind me.<bR><bR>
David- "You know the rules as well as anybody Kimberly. The saying goes ‘with love all things are possible.’ And even within a world like ours, that has been proven true. But, he must give you his love in return for yours. Only then can the two of you be together."<bR><bR>
Me- "Nick cant even see me, how is he supposed to love me if I have no contact with him. I'm just saying this in general, so don't think for a second that I'm buying into what your saying. My feelings for him haven't changed."<bR><bR>
Elder Women- "I can see with your eyes child. Even the way you look at him has changed."<bR><bR>
David- "The more contact that you have with him, in other words, the stronger your feelings get for him, he will eventually be able to see you. And if that happens, there is a risk you take."<bR><bR>
Me- "Lets say for a second that I buy into this. What is the risk I take?"<bR><bR>
David- "After he sees you for the first time, you have 2 months to get him to fall in love with you. If in that time he does not love you, you will be stripped of your angelic  responsibilities, age and die immediately. Our rules clearly state that no human is allowed to see an angel. If you die, from lack of his love, he will remember nothing. However, if you do earn his love, he will retain all memory and should keep your secret till his own death."<bR><bR>

Me- "So your saying, that when I feel right, I can tell him."<bR><bR>

David- "If you trust him, we trust you." I got up and hugged the Elder Women<bR><bR>

Me- "Well, thank you for the talk, but I don't think that will happen. I have to get back, Nick should be done with rehearsal by now."<bR><bR>

Elder Women- "Watch him closely child. And watch yourself too." I nodded and went back to Nick.<bR><bR>
