Chapter 5<bR><bR>

             Nick was in full spirit's that night, and the crowd cheered at his return. I watched the dance moves that I had seen a million times, but on this night it was as if I was seeing it through his eyes. The happiness, the joy and all the pain rolled up into one. The show was a great success and earned 5 curtain calls.<bR><bR>
              As soon as Nick left the arena, I went and sat on the pier and waited for him. He showed up about 5 minutes later. He came racing down the beach, and straight down to the edge of the pier where I was now standing.<bR><bR>

Nick- "Kimberly! Did you see? Did you see the show?!" He asked out of breath.<bR><bR>

Me- "Yes, I did. You were great." He threw his arms around me and held me tight.<bR><bR>

Nick- "I couldn't of done it without you."<bR><bR>

Me- "The strength was in you, you don't need-." He let go of me just enough so that he could look at my face.<bR><bR>

Nick- "No." He put his index finger to my lips.<bR><bR>

Nick- "You gave me the strength. You fulfill me like no one else ever has. For that I owe you everything."<bR><bR>

Me- "You owe me nothing, Nick. You've given me the best 4 days of my life. That's more then I could of ever asked for." His smile melted my heart.<bR><bR>

Nick- "Kimberly, can I kiss you?"<bR><bR>

Me- "I don't-."<bR><bR>

Nick- "Shhh, this is a gesture that can't be explained in words. Just say yes and close your eyes." I was lost in his gaze. His blue eyes pierced my soul with feelings I had never known.<bR><bR>

Me- "Yes." My eyes drifted shut. I felt him put his hands on either side of my face. Then, the warm tide rushed over me again as I felt the gentle press of his lips against mine. My body went numb from the neck down, the only reality was his lips kissing mine. Almost as if my instinct, I accommodated him when he deepened it and held me tightly in his arms. I put my arms around his neck and let my fingers slip through his soft blond hair. Several minutes later when our kiss ended, he kept me tightly in his grasp as my eyes opened and he spoke.<bR><bR>

Nick- "I've wanted to do that ever since I first laid eyes on you. My only regret is that I should of done it right then and there."<bR><bR>

Me- "I this a dream?"<bR><bR>

Nick- "If it is-." He ran his fingers through my hair.<bR><bR>

Nick- "I hope I never wake up." I felt tears, an emotion that was new to me, come to my eyes. He smiled and wrapped me in his arms.<bR><bR>

           We didn't get back to his house until around 3 a.m. His arm stayed around my waist as we walked to his back door. I put my head on his shoulder as he kissed my forehead.<bR><bR>

Nick- "Do you really have to go?"<bR><bR>

Me- "Yeah, I do. But, I'll see you soon, I promise."<bR><bR>

Nick- "Good, cause I don't think I could stand being away from you for longer then that." I smiled as he cupped my face in his hands and kissed my forehead. I shut my eyes as he put his cheek against the place he had just kissed and took me in his arms.<bR><bR>

Nick- "I'll miss you." I looked up at him.<bR><bR>

Me- "Don't worry, I won't give you enough time to miss me. But, in the meantime, I ‘ll miss you too. You'd better get some sleep, you have a meeting with your Transcontinental management team in the morning."<bR><bR>

Nick- "Nothing gets by you does it?" I shook my head ‘no'.<bR><bR>

Nick- "Ok, so I'll see you soon then?"<bR><bR>

Me- "You know where to go if you need to see me. Until then, night Nick."<bR><bR>

Nick- "Goodnight Kimberly." His lips touched mine very slowly, but just for a few seconds. He went back inside and I returned to heaven, where I found David waiting on me.<bR><bR>

David- "Have you looked at yourself lately?"<bR><bR>

Me- "What do you mean?" He held up a hand mirror in front of my face.<bR><bR>

Me- "Oh my god!" My skin was now the color of peach human flesh and my eyes were a dark green color.<bR><bR>

David- "Your angelic form is fading."<bR><bR>

Me- "I can see that. And I'm not feeling as awake and alert as I used to feel."<bR><bR>

David- "It's called being tired. You want to sleep. Your body is getting weak and it's changing."<bR><bR>

Me- "And this pain I'm supposed to have?"<bR><bR>

David- "It'll hit you on and off. There's no telling when though. You know Nick is going to have questions when he see's these changes happening to you."<bR><bR>

Me- "He must not have noticed these outer changes because of the darkness."<bR><bR>

David- "You'd better find out how he feels about you. And fast, before you run out of answer's to give him."<bR><bR>

Me- "I know, and I will. Soon."<bR><bR>       <html>
