Skipp Sudduth
As John "Sully" Sullivan

A stage and screen veteran, Skipp Sudduth comes to "Third Watch" after appearing in the critically acclaimed Broadway production of "The Iceman Cometh" starring Kevin Spacey.

Sudduth plays a streetwise police officer named Sully. "I love the combinations in Sully," says Sudduth. "He's a veteran with a good heart. He's sarcastic without being cynical. He sees himself like the town sheriff."

Born in Wareham, Massachusetts and an Air Force brat until he was ten, Sudduth's parents, especially his mother, a nurse who worked on the first open-heart surgery team, expected him to become a doctor. He earned an undergraduate degree in biology, worked in hospitals and was accepted to medical school, but didn't go. Instead, he followed his calling through a series of wildly diverse jobs from public relations to apprenticing with a winemaker. Eventually he landed in Chicago, working with the Steppenwolf Theater Company.

Sudduth's film credits include "54," Spike Lee's "Clockers," "A Cool Dry Place" and "Money Train." Sudduth most recently starred alongside Robert DeNiro and Jean Reno in the action-thriller "Ronin." The movie was praised for its amazing car chase sequences and Sudduth, a racecar enthusiast, did 90 percent of his own driving stunts. He'll next be seen in Joel Schumacher's "Flawless" (again starring DeNiro).

He has made guest-starring television appearances on NBC's "Law & Order," "Homicide: Life on the Street," "Trinity," "Mad About You" and "Cosby." Sudduth was also seen in the award-winning cable film "George Wallace" and on the HBO series "Oz."

Sudduth's Broadway stage work includes Lincoln Center's production of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" with Helen Hunt, "On the Waterfront" and "The Grapes of Wrath." Off-Broadway he has been seen at Joseph Papp's prestigious Public Theater in "Marisol" and "The Big Funk." He is a member of New York's Rumble in the Redroom sketch comedy ensemble.

Over the past twenty years, Sudduth has directed plays, comedy revues and short film projects while steadily working as an actor. In addition, Sudduth is a singer-songwriter and co-founder of the acoustic rock band, Minus Ted. The band has released two records on their own record label.

Sudduth lives in New York City. His birthday is August 23.
