Category: Extreme Comedy (Height Requirement)
Rating: PG-13

This movie's got a fluffy rating, but it almost had an R - so plan accordingly. One scene in particular was cut for the MPAA, which Myers wants to put back in the video version since you won't see it in theaters. But in my opinion it wouldn't have added anything to this second Powers outing. And the movie needed all those teenage males and their available summer cash (see Scoop at Links). Another scene was cut simply for it's gross "blech" level, and you can probably guess which one.

Now, for the review: If you are the least bit uncomfortable or easily offended with more "intimate" matters, this one's not for you. But if you aren't, then don't miss The Spy Who Shagged Me. Literally from the opening frame, I was laughing - and laughed nearly through the rolling of credits. Myers has put together an amazing collage of 1990's and 1960's cultural literacy, from commercial slogans to popular retorts.

Myers plays Austin, the returning Doctor Evil (I'm not giving anything away, surely you've seen the ads!), and another indescribable character (remember that icky cut scene?). Heather Graham is the American agent Felicity Shagwell. Robert Wagner and Rob Lowe are Dr. Evil's "Number Two." And Seth Green comes back as Dr. Evil's wayward son, the likeable gen-x'er(!) Scott.

AP, The Spy Who Shagged Me is a party, and not for children under 13 (like the rating says!). I've heard of people dressing for the show. But if you can't quite squeeze into that crochet dress, you'll at least be seeing everything in neon technicolor.

Thumbs up, baby!
