*All These Feelings Cloud Up My Reasoning*
Interpetations
================================
~How you interpet a song, vid, lyric, etc.~
An Interpretation for Busted -
- "I forget when words were only words she knows the party makes me nervous, in this stage we can't get hurt don't try to understand me."
I can't express myself because words mean everything now and no one can understand me, so don't even try.
- "we're too cool to be here alone but not too crazy to get busted."
We're too cool to do the things we do by ourselves, but we're not to crazy to get in trouble for them .
- "I found out one life just ain't enough I need another soul to feed on."
I need someone else in this life with me because I'm not enough.
- "I'm the flame I cant get burnt."
I'm the head of this, I'm the one who hurts people so I can't get hurt.
- "I'm wholly understated"
No one EVER gives me enought credit!
- "I found silence in this place an on and off again attraction"
I found a quiet place, but I don't always like quiet so I go there when things are bad.
- "I need such amazing grace, heaven sweep me away."
I need so much to just to be happy
- "Love dont change dont come around here dont wear my heart on your sleeve like a high school letter"
Don't try to show off my love like it's just another material possesion you have.
- "Dont strain because nothing ever comes of it"
Don't worry about things because the only thing that comes from worry is more problems.
- "The people we've become well they've never been people who we are"
Everyone around me is making a great chage in themselves
- "I strap on one horse and prayed for luck i dug another hole to bleed I know exactly how this works I need a new feel, dirty."
I have so much pressure built up on me I need to throw it on someone else, I need to give it away so I don't crush from it building up. But I need more problems to keep me going.
- "I dont need you crowdin' up my space I just want to get inside you"
I dont want you around, I just want you to be there when I need something.
- "You can't believe the heart you save givin' somethin' away"
When you give me what I need you make me feel better.
- "I dreamed that the world was crumbling down we sat on my back porch and watched it. In my head I heard the sounds of 15 strangers dancing."
Everything is falling apart in front of us but we can't do anything about it. All we can do is sit and watch. I'm getting thoughts and I don't know where they're coming from..
- ''Oh how I want you to know me oh how I want you to know me but oh how I wish I was somebody else oh how I wish you could own me"
I want to be with you, but you don't like me for who I am. I want to be someone else so you will like me.

Concert Reviews

~Matchbox 20 concert experiences~
Here is my review of the latest matchbox20 concert I went to. WARNING this is INCREDIBLY long!
THE BEGINNING - On March 17, 1998, St. Patrick's Day I saw matchbox 20 in Fairfax, VA at the Patriot Center. Me, my dad, and my friend went to go see them. We left our house at about 4:00 and go there around 5:00 or a little earlier than that. It was freezing cold out and the concert didn't start till 8:30. The doors were to open at 7:00. Anyways, I had brought all these copies of the Zine Flyer, about 200 of them. My dad offered to pass them out, cuz I'm a chicken, what can I say? There we saw LoveMB20, and we met her. There were quite a few people in line already... We were about the 10th people in our row, there were 3 other rows. The lines quickly filled up. Outside, while we were waiting we heard the guys rehearsing and we got to listen to the awesome tunes of "Busted", so we realized that we weren't going to be able to meet them before the show. There were people down there by the barriers though waiting for them, little did they know they weren't going to come out.
BEFORE THE SHOW INSIDE - Finally 7:00 comes and the doors open. We all rush inside and they don't care about checking our bags or anything. We all went down to the floor area, where the pit would be and we were about 3rd row back on Adam's side. Everyone was sitting on the ground and waited. My friend and I got up and my dad saved our spots, we went to the bathroom, got some food and bought some merchandise. I bought bumper sticker, one for one of my friends, and I bought 2 shirts, the matchbox20 stole my baby one that is maroon and the black one with the tour dates. When we got back we were sitting down and we had all the annoying people around us somehow. I was looking around and I saw Paul sitting and talking to this blonde haired girl and he was sitting on the pole...I took some pictures but I don't know if they came out. So I get up and my friend follows as my dad is yelling at me to get back there, but I didn't hear him. So I go up and this huge fat ass security gaurd was like
"what are you doing?" and I was like, "can I say hi to Paul?" He kept saying no, and I go "Come on why not?" and he just kept saying no. Paul was right there I should have just yelled his name! So then I go fine and leave and sit down. Meanwhile all these people after us realize it's someone from matchbox20 and they line up and he talks to them. Some girl with a backstage sticker or whatever talked with him for like 3 min and she didn't have any problem rubbing it in that she had one. Then Paul goes back and you can see him talking to someone backstage and then he goes back to the blonde haired girl and takes her hand and takes her backstage...hmmmmm! I was peed off by then....then some drunk girl comes in and starts ralphing all over the floor.
DAVID GORGANZOLLA CHEESE - The concert finally starts and the security gaurds tell everyone to get up and then everyone rushes the fence. My friend managed to get 2nd back and I was about 3rd back and on the other side of her...my dad was a little further back. The lights go off and people are already getting in fights and everything, yelling at people to get away from them and get off of them. Then David Gonzora or whatever his name is comes on and everyone goes crazy. They sucked to high peaks, but not as sucky as Slurp had at Pier 6. Lily Haydn has been their best opening act so far. Then all the moshing and crowd surfing starts and it was horrendous but the worst is yet to come. I just grab on to whatever I could and then I pushed anyone that tried to get by me. During David's show, I was yelling fruity pebbles, and since Meera had told me that he shakes his butt I started yelling "Shake your ass!!!" Finally he did, and it was hella funny. He came out acting retarded seriously though...he had some junk on his hands and was like shaking them around. Their sound was alright, but they pretty much sucked. His official name is now: David Gorganzolla Cheese.
BETWEEN SETS - In between the sets, I managed to move up to where my friend was and my dad was near me once again. We started talking to the security gaurd who was catching all the crowd surfers and he was talking about the Rage concert that he worked and the HFStival. We asked if we could take our coats and backpacks off and give them to him and he let us, but didn't let anyone else. Then we begged him for water and said we would pay him for it and he goes okay I'll get you some, so he gave us glasses of water but he didn't make us pay. All the people were like we want water too, and he told them no more. It was cool. Then the gaurds started yelling that people would start moshing and rushing so be prepared to push back. Oh and this group of people got in a fist fight so they had to leave during the show. The drunk girl also had to leave, and from what my friend said, she started kissing all the gaurds and saying "I'm flyin!"
MATCHBOX20 COMES ON!!!! - Finally the lights go off....a screen starts coming down and a little movie starts playing with ringing phones on it, I think it was. Then this high banging bass comes on and it shakes the whole place and then the GODS come out!!! They open up with "Busted", it rocked. Then the moshing and crowd surfing really kicked in. The whole crowd was going crazy and all these assholes were trying to move up forward. And we were all yelling that there was no space. The next song I think was "Kody" and I don't remember too much after that except that they played "Push" right before their encore and "3AM" was one of their last songs. They played "Tired", "Heaven", "Mercy Mercy Me", "You and I and I", and all of the songs on the album, except I don't remember them playing "Argue", I don't know maybe it was during one of the times I was getting smashed to high heavens. I was right infront of Adam and there was this little picture that had Adam as a teen and it said "Have you seen this man?" and Rob looks at it and goes this is funny and I yell really loud, "I've seen yours Rob!!!" But I don't think he heard me even though there wasn't much noise going on. I yelled Paul's name a lot and Kyle's when he came over and Brian's when he got close enough. Brian was going crazy. Adam was smiling a lot and doing his little head nod... Kyle was doing his little neck thing that he does and his faces, and Paul was just bouncing in the back, Brian was jumping and grooving along stage and Rob was throwing his arms every which way. Some crowd surfer guys that weighed a lot hit me in my neck and I heard it crack and I yelled all this shit at them and then I pinched them, and I hit one guy in the balls, I remember he was wearing gray pants. There were like 10 year olds crowd surfing...it was so bad that I was so squeezed and stuff and I almost like jammed my finger cuz I got rammed into the fence and my eyes were all watery I was hurting so bad. All these people were asking to be pulled out... And they did and then one woman got pulled out and this girl pushed everyone out of the way and said I could go there... She was really nice. Then David and Rob came out together and sang "Time after Time" it was beautiful, but I had hoped Kyle would have sang it with them. Kyle sounded amazing in "Mercy Mercy Me", when he was doing the little harmony thing he had going on. Then sadly but kinda happily in the fact that my pain was increasing, the show ended. I must say this though, they rocked so much asssss!!! I think their performance was better than the 9:30 club but I have to say that I think I enjoyed the 9:30 club more as an overall experience. Also during the show when people were throwing necklaces that were green up on stage and the guys put them on...I threw my necklace on stage too...but I don't know if they got it or saw it or not. There were also all these people that took off their shirts and were standing on peoples shoulders and seeing if the guys would look at them...As far as I could tell the guys didn't take interest.
AFTER THE SHOW - My friend and I searched for drinks but all the stands were closed so we went to find water fountains..it still didn't help. We waited inside for the crowds to die down and it was pouring out, so we went to the car which wasn't too far away and my dad parked up on the hill and down the hill was where you would wait for the guys to come out. My friend and I waited out in the rain for about 20 min maybe for them to come out. We saw Rob come out and he was in between two girls and he looked like he was drunk or something. Then there was an empty parking spot right next to the barricades so my dad drove the car over there and my friend and I sat in there until someone came out. My friend fell asleep and I saw Rob come out and it took a min for her to wake up but she came out. The security guard was rushing him and saying he had to get in, and Rob signed and stuff and then he was like I gotta go and I was like wait can I get a picture and he said "Sure"... So my friend took it but the flash didn't go off....errr.... And then my friend got a picture and her flash didn't go off either. Then right before Rob left I handed him the special gifts that the Long Day Girls had gotten them :) and handed it to him and he goes "Oh are these for me?" and I go "Yeah all of you" and he goes "Wow thanks" and then walked back to the bus... But the thing is that I only handed him four, cuz I couldn't find the other one but oh well.... It's better than nothing...Good god! Then I turned around and saw Paul standing there all lonely and stuff watching everyone watch Rob and I turned around and go "Hi Paul" and he goes "Hi" and I asked him if I could get a picture and he said sure, so then I put my arm around him and he put his arm around my waist and squeezed me in and out...
It tickled. He's such a cutie!!! My friend got a picture with him...and then we thanked him and said bye and then he left for the bus, and no one else noticed him. No one else came out which sucked, but I got to meet them last time. I am glad I got to meet Rob and Pauly though.
WHAT THEY WERE WEARING
Rob- In the beginning of the show, a maroon shirt that he had the sleeves rolled up too and it had black stripes going down it, and you could see his juicy arms and his tattoo but I dont know what his tattoo was of...he had these black pants on and they had like silver things going down the side of them...he looked yummy. During "Time After Time" he had on a shirt that had blue sleeves and it said Star on the front of it in red lettering. All the guys had black shoes on, I think.
Adam- Had on a maroon button down shirt, I think it was and green velvet pants...he looked really good.
Kyle- According to Rob, Kyle was their St. Patrick's day ambassador. He had on this green, springy green, suit on and he had white shoes I think! Underneath the sport jacket was a purple lace shirt. He also had these blue shades on with silver lining. He looked really yummy.
Brian- Black leather pants, and this blue long sleeve suit type shirt with black stripes on it..I think he had a shirt on underneath it too.
Paul- Black sport type pants I think, and before the show he had on his maroon sports type shirt...that he had worn last time I saw them. During the show he had a black shirt on and the whole time had his black beanie hat that I want. During some of the songs he had a cigarette in his mouth while he was playing.

Well, I went to my first ever Matchbox 20 concert last night =) and it was AMAZING! it was at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. Anyone else there? Semisonic was great...they opened with "FNT" which i was sooo incredibly happy about and they got the crowd going with "Delicious" and that was pretty cool. "Never You Mind" was so amazing; they were so into it and the crowd was so into it and it was just really cool. Then Soul Asylum came out, and I was soo excited to see them because I saw them about 2 years ago in their Misery days, and they were great. That time, I was in like 7th row center so that was really good, but this was just as fun. They opened up with "I Will Still Be Laughing" (I dunno if that's actually the name of it?) and sang all the hits like "Black Gold", "Runaway Train", "Somebody to Shove", "Misery", etc.. They were absolutely amazing. Then came Matchbox 20. I'll give you the setlist IN ORDER with little sidenotes about the song or about the guys where they are necessary.
Argue
Girl Like That
Damn (he said "this song goes out to my friends...*mumble mumble mumble*" (maybe someone else knows what he said here?) "...and its about trying to get laid."
Real World
Shame
Hang (I loved how Kyle sang in this song...he just has such a beautiful voice)
Tired
Kody (I liked the video screens in the background for this one...with the cars and all the other stuff...it was an especially good effect for that song)
3am (Good lighting job for this song...the crowd got really into this one...and Rob walked to the edge of the stage and was almost in the crowd)
Nothing Compares 2 U (I wasn't surprised by this one since I heard from some of you that they do this one...I have always loved that song and Rob sang it so well and emotionally.)
Busted (loved the CB here...sounded really good)
Push
Back 2 Good
ENCORE
Dear Joan (acoustic solo)...(After it was over, it was so phat when they took down the white curtains and everyone else was behind there and the lights just flashed on and the music started all so fast... It was just really cool)
You and I and I
Long Day (with "Fame" and "Gone till November")
Like every other concert, everyone was playing with beach balls and stuff and WRAT 95.9 The Rat has some beach balls that they gave out at some point...so before "Back 2 Good", one ended up on the stage and Rob kicked it and he goes..."Nothing says fuckin rock and roll like a WRAT beach ball." It was sooo funny =)

The Pyramid 7:30 p.m.
Finally, I was going to see my favorite band play live for the first time. I was so excited. Upon entering The Pyramid, my friend(whom I came to the concert with) and I went over to the t-shirt stand thing and stood in line for a few minutes. Then we went to find our seats, the place was packed. But we found them with no problem at all. And not long after the lights came down, and Paula Cole walked out, everyone cheered, and she started her songs. She gave a great performance. She really got into it,too. Then when she had finished her last song, she introduced her band. And she left stage. The lights came up, and it was intermission. So we waited paitiently. Then, after what seemed like forever, the lights came back down, and I saw the guys coming from backstage. The croud cheered, and the curtains opened. They started with "Argue". Which of course was great. Then Rob talked a lil,and he sang, umm I don't remember. But it was good. He sang "Mommas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" among the songs of theirs also. He would say things between songs, I didn't always hear what they were though. I know that at least once, he called Paul baby, which I think was cute. Nearly the entire time Matchbox 20 played, I was standing, and dancing, and singing. I yelled, and screamed alot too. Then, at the end, Rob came out, and did the final song, Rest stop. And we got up and left, I have to admit, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. And I appreciate their music now more than ever.

Saturday night the guys arrived in Adelaide for their show on Sunday. My friend and I went and met them at the airport which was truly great. We only got to talk to Rob and Paul however but I didn't mind cos Paul's my fave after all. I had no idea what to say so I asked him the really dumb question of "Did u get to watch 'Friends' on the plane?" he said "No we saw a really bad movie, 'Six Days and Seven Nights' so I was listening to The Verve instead". After talking to Paul, we talked to the Feelers, the band who supported them in oz, who were truly nice guys but that's a different story. We went out the front of the airport, had our photo taken with Paul, who was asking if he could drive but then he remembered he wasn't allowed and probably couldn't reach the pedals anyway. Made me laugh. I then got Rob to sign a photo of me and him, which he was real impressed with due to the fact it had his toy koala, Willy, in it and he felt the need to show the photo to everyone, specifically his fiance. I got my photo with him again and then they had to get on their bus. After that we had a long chat to the Feelers...
Well afterwards, I went out to town and had a bit, well way too much to drink, as in the alcoholic sense. In my intoxicated state I felt I had the power to jump a whole flight of stairs... Turns out I didn't. Instead I ended up in the hospital.
Well you've probably figured I didn't get to go to the concert on Sunday. Which I was so pissed off about!!!!!!! Fortunately I had not broken my ankle just very badly sprained it, considering it's now Wednesday and I am still on crutches...
Monday, I did get to the airport again though. As I was slowly making my way across the road my friend goes "It's Rob and Paul", surely enough the two of them were out the front of the airport doing what else, smoking of course. Rob asked me what I did and he laughed at me when I explained the story. Paul asked what I'd do if he kicked my foot, but he said he wouldn't cos it'd be cruel, but he told me to give up the alcohol however. We talked to them out there for about five minutes or so, which was truly great. When we went inside we found our friend and also Kyle reading, but we didn't want to disturb him, it wasn't til Adam came up to us that we spoke to them. Adam was in a rather great mood, shook our hands and then pretended to kick my foot. I gave my camera to James (I think, some guy they were with) to take photos so they should be rather zany I'm thinking. Kyle came up to us and chatted, he remembered us from when we met him way back in April, six months ago, we were pretty stoked!! He felt sorry for me and like patted my crutches when he shook my hand. So sweet. So thats the beginning and the end, as for the middle, the all important concert, I damn well missed it!!!
My MB20 weekend didn't quite work out as planned but it was indeed, um, eventful... And I did get to meet the guys after all. Unfortunately I did miss what it was all about, the music... But thats about it really I guess, sorry if this story drags.

Well, though the concert was over a year ago, I thought I should finally get around to posting it.
It was in April of 1997 when the band headlined the local 101.1 WJRR Earthday Birthday in Orlando. They were the last band in a lineup of several bands. It was an all-day event, but mainly I wanted to see the boys. Now, I must explain here that since I am totally blind, I was worried about going to an outdoor event by myself, since I was only 19 at the time. I had only one ticket, so I got to sit in the WJRR VIP tent so the guards could make sure I didn't get injured. I got to meet my favorite DJ's, which was nice, and I asked whether it would be possible to meet the band. They said they'd try, and before the MB20 show came on, the DJ got Rob and Paul over to meet me. I talked with them for about five minutes, and since I didn't have a copy of the CD, I asked where I could get one there. They said they'd get me one after the show. I told them that my friend had let me borrow the CD and that Kody was my favorite song. I had a tape recorder with me and I taped the show. During the show, Rob said he was sending Kody out for "Our good buddy Michael... Matt I'm sorry." and it was funny because he had no idea that I have a brother named Michael. After the show, which was excellent, I waited for my mother to pick me up. When she showed up about thirty minutes later, I said I was waiting for Rob to come back and talk with me. We asked around, and someone said that he was in the red shirt over there. My mother looked, and yelled, "Hey Rob!" and he turned around and said "Who's that?" I spoke up and said I was Matthew, and he apologized for not remembering to come back after the show. We then talked for about ten minutes, and since I had my tape recorder with me, he did my answering machine message for me. He said "Hey this is Rob from Matchbox 20 and Matthew's not in right now, but I think if you leave a message he'll probably get back to you maybe." He then gave me a Cd for free because he said he carried around about four or five of them. So, that is my concert review, even though it happened a while back.

Coral Sky Amphitheatre
October 3, 1998
West Palm Beach, FL
My friend and I got to Coral Sky at like 5:15, I REALLY wanted to meet them, but it didn't happen. I don't think anyone got to meet them there, unless they had backstage passes. We did get to hear sound check and it was soooo coool. They did a cover of the CFA song, Trials, and some other stuff. Anyway, when they finally opened the gates, my friend and I bought our merchandise, and found our seats. I was able to sneak a recorder in, I'll get to that later tho. Anyway, Paula Cole went at 7:30, and she was sooooo awful. She did like 3 or 4 songs, I was sooo bored. When she was over the whole place started clapping, she thought it was for her, it was prolly because everyone was soooo happy she was finally done, LOL. Matchbox finally came on at 9:00. They were AWESOME!!!!!! The songs they did were Argue, Girl Like That, Damn, Real World,Shame,Hang, Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys, Tired, Fascination Street, Kody, 3AM, Nothing Compares 2 U, Busted, Push, Back To Good, Dear Joan, Don't Let Me Down(Kyle did this one),Swing, You & I & I, and Long Day. Trevor from Cool For August was there and he played along with them during Mamas Don't Let You Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys. Now to the recorder...I was getting paranoid that I'd run out of tape, so after B2G, I put in a new tape, I'm glad I did. During the Kyle song, the idiot guard saw me with the recorder and took the second tape away, and he didn't know that I already had most of it on another tape. So I was able to get everything up to Back 2 Good.
Rob did his usual Damn speech, this is a song about getting laid. He also said that since he was glad to be home he was going to do a whole bunch of covers which he did. He said they just got finished taping the B2G video, and we would be seeing it within the next couple of weeks. This is something I didn't know, he said Dear Joan was about a friend of his who was fighting drug addiction. He said its not a happy song and that he's not saying drug addictions good, just something he wrote. I don't remember his exact words, but that's mainly what he was saying.
The concert was REALLY good, I wish they would hurry up and put out their new
CD already so they can come back :)
PS-If anyone reading this was there and was able to record the whole thing, PLEASE let me know.

Hi, my name is Kelly and i just got back from the mb20 concert August 18th at Pine Knob Detroit,MI well actually a town outside of Detroit called Clarkston. I have to say it is the best concert I have ever been to yet, I am still shaking from the experience. If you ever get a chance to go to one of there concerts go you will not regret i,t it is probably the best $29.95 I have ever spent in my life. We got to the concert just as Soul Asylum was opening. We unfortunately missed Semisonic because of all the traffic. But anyways the were really good. Then came the about half hour wait for matchbox20 the curtain kept opening a bit then closing to tease us. Finally they burst open and matchbox20 started off with argue. Rob was wereing a really cute cowboy hat. Paul's hair is dyed so bright red but its cool. I then went crazy jumping up and down wildly screaming the lyrics at the top of my lungs and waving my lighter. I apparently was the only one in my little section who knew the lyrics to Argue and was singing them. The people behind me must have thought I was insane. My friends were trying to settle me down cuz people were giving me weird looks but there was no stopping me. They then went on to sing Girl Like That, Damn, Real World, Shame, a b-side of one of the singles to which I dont know the name and numorous other but I lost track of which one was played when about that time but they played all the songs from Yourself or Someone Like You plus a few covers. If you love their cd you will love them even more in concert they sound way better live. Rob's vocals are amazing. In between one of the songs he started going "awooooh awooooh". He goes thats a little something I picked up in New Orleans now you all do it we did and he goes "Now don't you all feel alot f**king better". They closed with (or so alot of people though) Back 2 Good. After that the curtains closed a lot of people thought the concert was over they left but about a minute later the curtains started opening a little and closing teasing us then they opened again and Rob was standing there he said something like thats how we clear out the audience a little to give people air or something. Then he goes "Everytime I play this I always say I'm never gonna do it again" then he went on to play a cover of Cindy Lauper's "Time After Time" he then played 3 other songs and I don't remember which ones. After that sadly the concert ended but I cant wait to next time they come to town cuz i will most deffinately be going. if u went to this concert to or just wanna e-mail me do it at - mb20eve6sc@aol.com - Thanks Bye
