================================ *All These Feelings Cloud Up My Reasoning* Feelings ================================ ~Feelings on a video, song, band member, issue, etc.~ I must admit that I have had the occassional impure thought about Mr. Thomas. He is absolutely adorable. He's incredibly talented. He strikes me as the passionate, sensitive, and humourous sort. I hope I have the opportunity to meet him before or after the show, and maybe impart and collect a ...HUG or two. I am eagerly anticipating the NY show! I'm certain it will be another enjoyable performance. And who knows- perhaps. I might even realise an impure thought or two, or three, etc... -Lisa Martinez Reeves902@aol.com I read the last issue, of the Long Day Magazine and I read about how that Toby dude on MTV was cutting the band down, and I was really really pissed off!! So I wrote to MTV and told Toby off and told him he should go back to where he came from. What a butt!!! I think he is just jealous that he doesn't look as good as Rob. = ) Rob Thomas is too fine. AAAAHHHH their song just came on!!! Well, thats all! -Wangaccir@aol.com I'm sure you've heard this all before, but I'll state my case for the record. Matchbox20 holds a special place in my heart, and always will, for a very specific reason... they've changed my life. I was in a terribly abusive relationship. My boyfriend and father of my child treated me very badly, I was sad and depressed, and thought the world was coming down on me. Then I heard Push. When I first heard Push, I liked it very much, but it wasn't until I LISTENED to the words, that I knew I wasn't alone. Every single word, every lyric Rob utters in that song is MY life. I couldn't believe it, I must've cried. I saw the video, saw the pain, and felt everything he was feeling, and that gave me the incentive I needed to get out of that horrible relationship. I ran out and bought the CD, and fell in love with a band that I knew nothing about. Now I love the band for so many more reasons. All the songs I hear are me, all the words I hear are me. I find it insane that I can have so much in common with someone I've never met, someone I'll probably never know. I feel the same pain I hear in those songs, and although it still hurts, I now know I'm not the only one. And I have beautiful music to help get me through my bad times. The members of Matchbox20 have given me so much. I love them in so many ways, and would one day like to thank them, most of all Rob Thomas, whom I feel like I know so well. Who knows if my life would be different had I not heard that song. In some ways, I think that certain people are put on this Earth to help take care of the rest of us. The members of Matchbox20, Paul, Brian, Kyle, Adam, and Rob, are definetly in with that selection of fantastic people. Thank you to all who read this, -Catherine Talbot GirlLikeThat@webtv.net Hi everybody! I am so pissed! I just had a chance to get tickets to a MB20 concert! It was right up near the stage too! But my dad wont let me go!!! It's in the city! Well......I am sooooooooo obsessed with ROB! So..I will never forgive my father!!! Rob is sooo hot! I could never ask for anything better....but those (once in a lifetime) tickets! If anyone ever finds out that they are playing in NY or NJ or any remotely close area please write me!!!!???! I would appreciate it! From one Rob lover to another! Thanks! Love, -Missy MISSY7917@aol.com Since I first bought Yourself or Someone Like You, "Hang" has been my favorite song on the CD. It always meant so much to me and I could play it over and over. Over the summer, I had a really bad experience --I won't go into details-- and I would sit and listen to "Hang" for hours at a time to make me feel better. Every time I listen to it, I can't help crying. On November 13th, I saw Matchbox 20 in concert for my first time. I was with my good friend Matt, and I REALLY did not want to start crying in front of him. But I couldn't help it and when they played "Hang", I sat there through the entire song with tears running down my face. Matt knew about my "Hang story" but had never heard the song before and after that night, he loved it as much as I did. His birthday was on Wednesday and I bought YOSLY for him. . . "Hang" quickly became his favorite song on the CD too. Last night, Matt and I went to the movies and on the way home, he put YOSLY into the CD player and put "Hang" on. In the middle of the second chorus, he asked me out. He said he'd been planning that for a while; he wanted me to think of good memories whenever I heard the song. I don't think a song has ever meant so much to me in my life. Just thought I'd share my little story. :) ~Kerri~ LoveCaber4@juno.com MB20Live24@aol.com ================================ *I Could Say So Much* Quote(s) ================================ ~Words straight from their mouthes~ "Rob has always played keyboards, but never had a music lesson. He was one of those annoying people who picked it up and said, ''Listen to this.'' Then, he would write a song and play the music. Now he can play the guitar also. What a geek." ---Missy about her brother, Rob -Melanie506@aol.com These are some interview exerpts having mainly to do with Paul... But I forgot where I got them or what magazine they're from. ............................................................................. Paul: I have a tendency to write songs about people or myself who hide things and they're afraid to put things out there. They're afraid to put things out there. They're afraid to tell people what they really think. Stephanie (the interviewer): So you do it in your writing... Paul: Yeah. It's sort of the opposite of Rob's songs. His is like "I'm gonna tell you what happened" and mine are "I don't want to tell you what happened." ............................................................................. Question: Did you choose your own wardrobe for the "Push" video? Paul: We had a stylist there that brought clothes, but I can't let anyone dress me, I have to dress myself. ............................................................................. (When asked something like which job he thought he was most good at) ....while Paul still would like to wait on tables, as he puts it "I rocked at it, I was so good. I was a much better waiter then I am a drummer, that's for sure." ............................................................................. (while talking about the reasoning behind "Push") Rob: "...we're so non-offensive, we're so non-misogynistic, we're so girlie. It's just pitiful. I mean, come and talk to us on the bus when we're doing our nails and ask us if we're going to beat women." ............................................................................. Hope I could help! -Rhonda rmsaenz@gte.net This was long time ago, but i just remembered. I was listening to Rick Dees Top 40's and Matchbox20 came on to talk to Rick. Rick " Do you do your nails by yourself or do you have someone to do it for you?". Rob " I do it by myself and I'm getting pretty darn good at it too". Then they started talking about stuff everybody already knows, like thier band name and stuff like that. k, that's all. -Christina Wangaccir@aol.com This is a radio bit of Adam talking, played on KOME 98.5, in San Jose, CA...I don't know where it was recorded though. "I'm high maintenance, that's all I'll tell you. I need to Oxy scrub my face every night before I go to sleep, because you know, if I don't do that, I just feel like my skin is not gonna be clean. I mean, I have decent skin, I'm a little blotchy today, I'm not gonna lie to you, but I have good skin. I moisturize, and I'm 75 years old so I think that's helped to maintain my younger appearence. Um, I have to have my cosmetic bag with me, this is one of my big, big pet peeve fetish things. If I don't carry my cosmetic bag like through the airport, or on the plane or somewhere, I get very nervous. Well, I got my hair gels, and I got my uh shampoos and soaps and you know my, I keep saying Oxy Pads! Look I'm not looking for an endorsement, I'm just telling you, I've got this big 'ol cooler of a cosmetic bag, and all the band just thinks I'm way too much maintenance. You know, 'cause I don't get very many zits, but when I get one, and this is good radio by the way using the word zit, but when I get one, boy, it could be like Mount St. Helen on my forehead, and I am not happy about it. And they don't go away for like months, and I had one in the middle of my, I had a third eye, lemme put it to you this way, for like, I don't know what, like 6 months, the whole band didn't know what was going on, they thought that this was something that was literally gonna open up and start, like, winking at people, and I was just freaking out!" Isn't that cute :)? -calavan@sirius.com Here's a Rob quote: ( I think) "Yeah, and you know what bigger feet mean... Bigger shoes!" -mb20girl@rocketmail.com "Don't grab someone's ass when they're not looking" Rob Thomas 10-17-97 El Rey Theater ,California "Have a sandwich and enjoy" MB20 9-2-97 KROQ-FM CA -Both from: Meg Tinker9194@aol.com ================================ *I Forget When Words Were Only Words* Questions ================================ ~Answers to all your Matchbox 20 questions~ -Answered by LuvMB203EB@aol.com 1. When will the guys be back in the states after their European tour? -jackibr@hotmail.com A. Last I heard, the guys are coming back from Europe in Mid-December taking a little vacation and then kicking off another US tour. 2. Hi, I had a question about MB20, I was wondering if you guys had heard anything about Matchbox20's next single? I know 3am just came out but what is next? Could it be the new accoustic version of Push? If you know anything plese get back to me, thanks and keep up the good work. -IMatchBoxI@aol.com A. The next single should be "Real World", in which they will be filming their video for it soon. 3. I know its been said before that Kyle sings Hang on the cd, but if you listen carefully, it kind of sounds like Rob sings some parts. Do you know if Rob sings any (besides back up) in Hang and if so what parts? -geauxro@dbtech.net A. Rob sings the verses and Kyle has backup vocals on the CD. Live though, Kyle sings a verse or so. So both Kyle and Rob sing parts in "Hang". 4. I was wondering - how many subscribers do you have? Thanks, -Vanessa vanessak@rocketmail.com A. We don't have an exact count of our subscribers, but we believe it is between 200-300 subscribers. 5. I don't have any email so I can't recieve you answer...I was wondering if you could post it here or in the GB of the offical MB20 web site. I was wondering if Rob really has a front chipped tooth. I saw it in a photo, but then on everything else, his tooth looks normal. -mberrier@accd.edu A. To all of you wondering out there, Rob does not have a chipped tooth, like it may seem in some of his pictures. This also goes back to the question we had about Rob's tooth in the last issue. 6. Hello. I am hoping that someone there can either confirm or deny a recent posting I read. Is is true that Matchbox 20 have sceduled the following dates: San Antonio on December 29, Dallas on December 30, and Houston on December 31? -Reeves902@aol.com A. I believe it is true that they will be touring on those dates, here, but we will keep you posted on the tourdates! They are doing some of those tourdates with the Wallflowers...I believe the December 29th one. 7. What kind of nail polish and eye stuff do the guys recommend? -Melanie506@aol.com A. There is no answer to that at this time, but maybe we can get back to you on that. But the guys have recently not been wearing make up or nailpolish, due to they say, lack of time. We can understand that, now can't we? >================================ *Don't You Think I'm Good Enough* Webpage of the Issue ================================ ~This Issue's rad webpage picked to be reviewed and awarded~ -Reviewed by LuvMB203EB@aol.com **** out of 5 stars for this page The Matchbox 20 Hompage: Yourself or Someone ... : http://www.usaor.net/users/dkrob/matchbox20 E-mail the owner of the page~Dkrob@Usaor.net This is another great website for our favorite band matchbox20!
