I thought I'd let you know that in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, there is a small picture of Rob Thomas (a very nice one, i might add) and an article about artists that are playing Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Matchbox 20 is playing on September 4-5. Its the issue with Jamie Lee Curtis and Michelle Williams on the cover, if you want to buy it.
 -Jodee (BldngLover@AOL.com)

MB20's new single "back 2 good" should be coming out this fall
 -Audie (nixbabe@webtv.net)

Matchbox 20 Ask, "Have You Seen This Man... or Someone Like Him?" from spin online (http://www.spin.com)
Matchbox 20 are searching the world over for the aviator-cap wearing model who was featured on the cover of their multi-platinum debut, Yourself Or Someone Like You. The band are preparing to shoot a new video for their latest single, "Back To Good," with Paul Hunter (who most recently shot Marilyn Manson's "Dope Show" clip), and they want to feature their elderly, bespectacled cover-star in the clip. There's one small problem, however--nobody knows where he is. If you want to help, get out your CD's and use them as milk cartons. Sources at Matchbox 20's publicity firm, KSA have asked that anyone who spots him please e-mail them at KSAPR@aol.com.
 - Ali (Bask3eb@aol.com)

MB20 have changed their current set list ,and there latest cover song is "Fame" by David Bowie.

We would like to thank Jen for sharing her expirience with us! She had the opportunity that a lot of us would like to have and did a great job of representing all matchbox 20 fans!

We would also like to thank Morgan for allowing us to use the review. Be sure to visit her site to see the FANatic pictures at: https://www.angelfire.com/fl/roblovers/

It was a hot and humid Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee. A young girl (me) was on her way to the mall to get her hair cut........ I had had a stressful week talking non-stop on the phone to MTV producers, hoping for a chance to nterview my favorite band, Matchbox 20. I have always been an ultra positive person, but had gone through a rough break-up earlier this year, and it was an album by this incredible band that helped me to get back to my happy self...BACK 2 GOOD..so to speak! My first night out in public after the break-up was my first Matchbox 20 concert! I had shared this story with MTV and it seemed hopeful, but they informed me there was some stiff competition. Little did I know that they were already making plans to surprise me and fly to New York to interview these 5 fabulous men!! They were co-conspiring with 3 of my closest friends, including my hairdresser, so MTV knew exactly where I would be!!! So, I'm sitting there chatting away with Garnett while he's doing my hair, and in comes my friend Joe and a freakin' camera crew telling me I was the one chosen!! Well, if you saw the show, you know how I reacted..if you didn't...let's just say I couldn't contain my excitement!! I jumped from the chair to hug my friend and ended up tackling him to the floor! They escorted me out the door into the door of a limo and we were off to the airport!! It was there that I learned they were taking me to NEW YORK!! So I freaked out again! Being born and raised in Utah, then moving to Nashville when I was 19 to pursue a music career, I never had the chance to go to New York, so yet another dream was realized!! The entire time we were in the limo, or the airport, the camera was on me and they were asking me questions and more questions...but the crew were so fun, it didn't feel wierd at all. We had to do things over and over again so they made sure they got it on tape! We arrived in New York around 1am and walked around Times Square for awhile filming more stuff. By the time we got to the hotel and were able to get some sleep, it was 4:30am!! The next morning, in comes the crew again to wisk me away to meet the guys and do the interview. I was so excited!! I had memorized all the questions I wanted to ask them so I was READY!! They made sure everything was ready in the next room and I could hear the guys in there, but they wouldn't let me peek in the room until it was time! I walked in and they all started clapping which I thought was great! I sat down and got aquantied with everyone for about 15 min. and the next thing I knew we were already into the interview. It was so cool because the entire time, it was more like catching up with friends I hadn't seen in awhile instead of this "offiicial interview" They have a way of making everyone around them feel like an instant friend! There was so much great stuff that didn't make it on the air...all of us did our impressions of our fave Southpark character...Rob and I did Cartman, Adam & Pookie chose Chef, I think Kyle's was Kenny, and Pauly prefers The Tick. I brought up alot of the covers that they've performed in various shows and Rob stopped me and said, "So, Jen, your favorite songs are ones we didn't even write, thanx alot....and acted like he was leaving! That was pretty funny! Rob's most embarassing moment on stage was hilarious to hear on the show! Adam interupted halfway through and said, "You know way too much about us Jen, this is too cool so we're going to leave now" and everyone acted like they were getting up again! Probably the most meaningful moment for me was when Rob was talking about how his music is his emotional outlet and it helps him deal with things. I looked at him and thanked him and said "it helps me through things too" and I almost started crying. He hugged me and said "Wait, Barbara Walters, you're supposed to make us cry baby" So then we all openly sobbed REALLY LOUD.....it was hysterical! Then, when the interview was over, we were all just hanging out. Rob and I were chatting on the bed being silly, and the next thing I knew, the entire band was on the bed with us!! A camera guy walked by and noticed we were still there so he turned on the camera and started shooting more stuff! Rob and I called it the "bed in" for peace and love! =) But, all things must come to an end and the boys had to get to a show. Rob asked if I was coming and I had no clue what MTV had planned for me, but the producer said they had me scheduled to fly home in about 3 hours. =( But it really wasn't "a full show" it was just a half hour thing with In Sync. I reminded them I was planning to come to the Louisville and Knoxville shows the following weekend, so it all worked out! We had such a fun time and I was so happy with how everything turned out! The guys are the ones who deserve all the credit for making it enjoyable for you to watch. I'm just thankful, I was able to thank Rob for writing such meaningful songs. FANatic was by far the funnest and most incredible thing I've done in my life so far and I'll always cherish it! Thanx to MTV, thanx to Morgan for setting up this special section, thanx to all of you for your sweet comments, it just makes my day!! =) But most of all, thanx to Rob and the sassy Matchbox men for helping to get me BACK 2 GOOD!! Take care everyone!! =)

 ~How they rate to you~

On MTV's FANatic I thought the guys were super sweet and it was great that they agreed to meet one of their fans. Adam looked really good, Paul always looks good,Kyle looked...um... like Kyle, but Rob has gained some weight! I did not expect that. Oh well I still think he's hot.
 -Angela (catgirl_128@hotmail.com)

I thought it was pretty cool. Rob looked great as always and the band was really fun to watch. I was a little jealous when I saw the girl who was interviewing them all over Rob especially when they were in the same bad...What I would have gived to be her!! Hehe other then that...THE INTERVIEW ROCKED!!!!
 -Ashlee Sargent (Natalie798@aol.com)

On Monday, July 13th, like so many other Matchbox20 fans, I sat in front of the tv tape in VCR and remote in hand waiting for the Fanatic show to come on. I felt such life and giddyness watching Matchbox20...and during the interview I thought to myself 'wow, this is a great interview'. Because Jen (the fanatic) was so down to earth, she wasn't hysterical (asking Rob to marry her and such...haha!), and her whole presence was just very real and very human..and it was obvious that Matchbox20's music and touched her soul. And I could completely understand how she felt- because their music touched my soul as well..and it was so wonderful to be able to see how Matchbox20's music effects so
 many people.

 Interpetations
 ================================
~How you interpet a song, vid, lyric, etc.~

 ***Warning- LONG!***
Okie- everyone here is gonna think I'm nuts, but the song Kody helped me get over the loss of someone *very* dear to me- my cat. I found Stinkey Norman the Immortal Conquerer/Sex God while walking to the store- I watched his old owner throw him out of a car window while stopped at an intersection. From the first moment I saw this tiny, helpless animal, covered in his own filth and obviously very abused, I knew I had to help him. So I scooped him up, careful not to touch the open wounds on his back and paws, and turned around and went home, stopping only to buy a can of cat food from a local convenience store..........

To make a long story short, my dad agreed to let me keep him, and Stinkey soon became my best friend. He cried when I was not near him, he slept in my bed, he ate from a dish right next to my chair at dinner. We were *close*. I'm talking, if he were a person, we'd be talking to each other at all hours of the day. Then, one night, Stinkey was late coming into the house. He usually came in and was scratching to get into my room by 10pm. It was 2:45 am, and he still was not there. I knew something bad had happened. The next day, my dad comes to see me and hands me something- making my fears a reality: my kitty's collar. Stinkey had been hit by a truck the night before and was dead. I cried all day. That night, I needed some comforting, so my friend came over and stayed with me all night. He suggested I put in YOSLY, so I did. When Kody came on, it totally hit me: He's gone. Stinkey Norman was gone. Y'know that line 'And if you've never heard that silence, well, it's a God-awful sound.'? I used to think it was just a really pretty line. But as I sat there, I realised that I would never again hear the bells on my cat's collar tinkling throughout the house, I would never again hear him knocking things over and breaking them, I would never again hear my father gripe about the litterbox smelling bad. The silence truely is an awful sound. Things that had annoyed me before, like waking up in the middle of the night because Stinkey was pouncing on my feet, or walking into the laundry room and being blown away by the smell of the catbox.....I suddenly missed them so much. I would have given my right arm if it meant I could have him back. But Kody helped me to get over it......it made me realise that, yeah, things die, and it hurts. But I have to get on with my life, and so I did. And for that, I thank matchbox20, for writing the song, and helping me.
(And hey, call me a loser, but I love animals, especially this one, and the whole thing happened at a really stressful time...I was a rubberband ready to snap back and hurt someone.....I dunno where I would be, if I even would be, had YOSLY not been there to make me see things straight.)
 -Kimberly (Ravana@aol.com)

Here's my view on the Real World
"I wonder what it's like to be the rainmaker, i wonder what it's like to know that I made the rain"
He's never done anything he or his friends are proud of. and he's wondering what it feels like to do that.

"i'd store it in boxes with little yellow tags on everyone and you can come and see them when i'm...done, when i'm done"
When he finally does something, he's going to make a big deal about it and tell all his friends what he did, He's going to "keep it" so he can show it off to them if they don't believe he's done something.

"I wonder what it's like to be a superhero, i wonder where i'd go if i could fly around downtown"
He wants to be someone big and go somewhere with that

"from some other planet, I get this funky high on yellow sun, boy i bet friends will all be...stunned, they're stunned."
When he gets known, goes somewhere, and gets attention everyone will be shocked he did it

(chorus) "straight up what did you hope to learn about here, if i were someone else, would this all fall apart strange, where were you, when we started this gig, i wish the real world would just stop hassling me."
Tell me what you really can to see when you came to see me, what did you really want to know? If I wasn't who i was now would everything that has happened be different? Now that i'm someone you want to be close to me, but you weren't there before. i want everyone to leave me alone

"i wonder what it's like to be the head honcho, i wonder what i'd do if they all did just what i said."
he wants to know what it's like to be in charge of everything, but he wouldn't know how to react if they actuialy listened to him.

"i'd shout out an order, i think we're out of this man get me some, boy don't make me wanna change my...tone, my tone."
Now that he's got everyone's attention, he can make people do what he wants them to. and if they don't they're in trouble

 (chorus)

"please don't change, please don't break, the only thing that seems to work at all is you, please don't change, at all from me to you and you to me."
he doesn't want the one thing that is true to him in his life to change or to fail on him now because it's the only think keeping him up.
