Once everyone had walked away I decided to go upstairs and see if Tiffany, Kristin, and Alana needed any help unpacking their things. Since I really didn’t talk to Alana as much as I use to since I had moved down here I decided to go see her first.
“Hey Jen. This is really sweet of your Aunt to let us stay here.”
“Yea I know. I’m so glad you all came down. I mean even if the situation was a bad reason to bring you down here. We haven’t really had a chance to talk as much as we use to since I’ve been down here and away so this is the perfect opportunity for us to catch up.
“Yea I know it’s kinda hard to keep in touch when you’re being rushed all over America.”
“I know that was so hectic but I’m home now and getting a chance to enjoy it a little. So what’s the deal with you and Chris, you two still talk a lot?”
“Oh my gosh everyday we talk for like a half an hour to an hour. Without that I’m sure our relationship would be in the dumps.”
“That’s so sweet. So how’s the unpacking going?”
“Oh I’m done. I had it all so organized for rushing out of the house.”
“Great so why don’t you come with me to check on how Kristin is doing.” We closed the door to Alana’s room and walked next door to Kristin’s room where she had the radio blaring as she danced around the room singing.
“Crazy... I just can’t sleep. I’m so excited I’m in too deep. Oh oh oh craaaaazy but it feels alright baby thinking of you keeps me up all night!” Kristin sang.
“YAY Bravo.” Alana and I cheered as we clapped for her.
“Thank you thank you. You are too kind. I am the one the only Britney Spears.” she said as she bowed. “Man you have any non-country karaoke places around here. I need to show my talent to the world, and of course ya’ll need to help me.”
“Actually I think the pizza place down the street is like a karaoke hang out. David told me it’s kinda like say what karaoke except with more acts. They have a little wheel of death thing too. If you want I’m sure we could all go out for pizza tonight.”
“OH really? Can we can we can we pleeeeeasssssssse?” She jumped up and down.
“Sure I know Aunt Lindsay would love it.”
“Oh goody goody goody.” Kristin exclaimed.
“Save that energy. Hey are you unpacked all the way yet?”
“Ummm.” She said as she looked at her full suitcase. “Guess I got a tad bit side tracked.
“Yea just a little. Well I need to go check on Tiffany so I’ll be right back.”
“OK I’m gonna stay here and help Kristin.” Alana said.
“Ok that’s good I’ll be back in a few.” I walked across the hall to where Tiffany was.
“Hey how’s the unpacking going?”
“Almost done. I can’t thank your Aunt enough for letting me stay here for this week! I was about ready to run away from home.”
“Why would you do something like that?”
“Well my parents are really pissed about me being pregnant and they have given me nothing but constant torment since I told them. I just can’t take them treating me like this anymore.”
“You shouldn’t have to take that. Have you told Justin?”
“I briefly mentioned it and he said he was going to figure a way to get me away from them so we could be together.”
“Well if Justin says he will he will. Don’t worry he’ll figure something out. The last thing you need to be is upset and pregnant.”
“Yea I know I’m trying to forget about my parents for now.”
“Well listen Kristin, Alana and I are going to get my Aunt to take us to this pizza and karaoke place tonight so that’ll help you some.”
“OK but I refuse to humiliate myself in front of a bunch of people. Are you guys gonna do it?”
“Yea Kristin inspired us. You should do it. You’d have so much fun with us! All three of us are going to do something a lil crazy with a Britney Spears mix of ‘Baby one more time’, ‘sometimes.’ and ‘crazy’ what do you think?
“Well then there is absolutely no way in hell I would do that with you!”
“ Of course you wouldn’t but you better be cheering us on.”
“Hey girls how’s it going.” Lindsay said peeking through the doorway.
“Great.” I said. “ Hey Lindsay I’m feeling so much better today do you think we could go to that pizza/karaoke place down the street?
“I guess so. Are you sure you’re up to it?”
“Yes absolutely positively 100% sure.”
“OK well then that stuff usually starts at 7 so we’ll leave at 6:20.”
“Ok we’ll be ready thanks so much.”
After Kristin and Tiffany were done unpacking we all went downstairs to watch some of the game with David. We told David where we were going to dinner and he was all excited he was going to enter and do his “Pretty Fly For A White Guy” routine.
Later that evening....
“Come on girls we’re going to be late.” Lindsay yelled from the bottom of the steps here Lance, David, and Tiffany also were waiting.
“We’ll be right there.” I yelled. A few short moments later Kristin, Alana and myself came downstairs ready to go.
They all gave us all weird looks but David was the only one to speak up. “I know you girls are from Maryland and all but this is Florida no need for the jackets.” he said. Kristin was in the baby one more time outfit with the skirt and knee socks, Alana was sporting the white pants for the sometimes video and I got stuck with the black flares for crazy. We all were wearing jackets over our outfits so no one had a clue what we were going to do.
“Ok well we’re running late let’s hit the road.” I said opening the front door. We got into the van and drove about 4 or 5 minutes to where the pizza place was, luckily the crowds hadn’t really started yet.
“Listen why don’t you 4 go get a table and we’ll be right back we have to find the bathroom.” Alana said as she shooshed them into the room full of tables and chairs and a stage right in the front, center of the room. They all went in and got seats right up front.
“Can I help you girls?” a young assistant asked as we approached her at the front desk.
“Yea, we’d like to sign up for the karaoke tonight.” I replied.
“Ok and what song do you want?”
“Well actually we want to do a Britney Spears medley of ‘baby one more time’, ‘sometimes’ and ‘crazy’ we already cut a tape with the transitions.”
“Wow aren’t you three prepared.” she smiled “Ok I just need your names and who is doing what and any notes to the sound and lighting people.”
“Oh ok.” I said as I took the paper and wrote who was doing what and what kind of lighting we wanted for each set. “alright that’s it.” I said handing it back to her.
“Thanks so much, meet back here after we have the ‘Pretty Fly For A White Guy’ singer.”
“That’s my cousin David. OK thank you.”
We quickly headed into the room and grabbed our seats as the first performance was ready to begin we ordered our dinner which came 3 minutes into the show. From the looks of the competition so far we were feeling pretty confident.
In the middle of the third act Lance’s cell phone went off so he hurried out of the room and went outside.
