1999 ECHL ALL-STAR GAME
Gingras' effort in the two events the goalies participated in might have been lost by the big deficit his Northern squad faced.
On a regular night, if you stop 25 of 29, it might not even be a good night. But against point-blank shots like he faced Tuesday, it's a great night.
"I just tried to have fun," the rookie netminder from Quebec said. "When you have fun, it comes easy and that's what happened. Everybody had fun and that's why the competition was great."
While he's likely to have an equally rough time tonight in the actual game, Gingras wasn't concerned.
"Of course, it's going to be an offensive game," the diminutive goalie said. "That's why it's fun for the fans."
He was happy for one thing that won't happen after the game.
"We don't take the stats."
