Mike's Triumph Spitfire:
|
I traveled to the New Orleans British Car Day 2004. My car did not place out of seven cars in the Spitfire/GT6 class, but with a baby to care for, I don't have much time for my cars. Other members of my club attended and their pictures can be found on my club's website Here.[March 2004]
My club's show was again on Pensacola Beach, Florida. The weather was even better than last year with a cool breeze all day that kept some people downright chilly in the shade of our large guest tent. We had eight Spitfires, more than ever before, but no GT6s. PLEASE consider and try to attend our show in April 2005 with your Spitfire or GT6. You will not be disappointed at our show. Please click here for my club's website where you will find details and pictures from our show. We give a free dinner Friday night and have night security at the hotel parking lot. The pictures to the left show my car in the photo spot and a pose of myself, my wife and our new son who was 8-months-old at the time. This was his first time in my Spitfire. [April 2004] |

My club's show was again on Pensacola Beach, Florida, but moved slightly east to the parking lot of the Hampton Inn because of hurricane repairs to the main beach area. The weather was great with a cool breeze all day. Unfortunately, NO OTHER Spitfire was brought to our show this year! I was shocked especially since last year we had eight. So I had the only Spitfire out of 95 British cars and bikes! PLEASE consider and try to attend our show in April 2006 with your Spitfire or GT6. You will not be disappointed at our show. Please click here for my club's website where you will find details and pictures from our show. We give a free dinner Friday night to welcome you to Pensacola Beach and have night security at the hotel parking lot for the weekend. I also brought my Triumph 2000 Mk1 saloon (sedan) to the show and let my best friend drive my Spitfire. I asked him which car he wanted to drive, but of course he chose my Spitfire! So at the left, that's my friend driving my Spitfire and I took the photo as I did for all the photos at the show as the cars drove in.[April 2005] |

I brought my 22-month-old son for his first ride in my Spitfire to the European Car Show at the National Museum of Naval Aviation, NAS Pensacola. Yes, I put his baby seat on the passenger's side but it wasn't hard to do. The hard part was keeping him from touching all the neat cars. This show has members from my Panhandle British Car Association, the South Alabama British Car Club, the Porcshe club, the Rare-Air VW club, the BMW club, and there were also two Ferraris this year. More pictures from this event are here. [May 2005]
The next weekend was the Shriner's Benefit Antique Car Show at their Hadji Temple in north Pensacola, not far from my neighborhood. This is also a nice local show to attend among the shade trees of their property. More pictures from this event are here. [May 2005] |
