Native American Cultural Center
The Center that we are presently working toward is small --- But it is a start. We need and are striving for centers in each geographic area that we have large membership concentration. These centers need to provide class room space, a joint mutual craft area, room for resource books and materials, plus emergency housing on a temporary basis. There needs to be sufficient room for vegetable gardens, herb gardens and basic livestock (rabbits, chickens, goats, hogs, etc.). All of these things can meet the basic needs of "our people" when needed. The property that the centers are located on, needs to have a viable fresh water source independent and not dependent on electrical service.
Centers will allow us to teach not only the sacred oral teachings, but also the traditional "old" craft techniques…..plus basic survival skills. The making of soap, canning of food, preservation and conversion of herbs, hide tanning, sewing, tool construction, trapping snares, rain water conversion, alternate heating and cooling techniques, location of water and hand drilling, basic blacksmithing and operating a forge, black powder weapons and reloading "primitive" weapons, hand fired pottery, bone carving for utensils, ink making for quill writing, making paper,...etc.…etc. amongst other skills and techniques.
We gladly accept all forms of donations for this ongoing outreach including time and labor, materials, land, etc..
If you are interested in the Cultural Center ----- it is so important to us that we have a separate e-mail for specific questions, concerns and input for the Cultural Center.
Thank you for your interest in the key to providing the avenue for perpetuation of "old traditional" skills to our young and all who desire to learn.
