There are many books presently available on the oral teachings, ceremonies and spiritual practices of the Native American Indian People as a whole. Many of the older, hard core traditional or sacred teachings are not available in written form as they are not suppose to be. They are to remain ORAL in order to maintain their sacred life force breathed into them through the "teller".
We teach and propagate ALL teachings (oral and written) --- But more importantly we teach the reasons, the significance and the why behind the how.
Ceremonial concepts or even ceremonial protocol (the how to do) is meaningless without the understanding of the "why" (significance of symbolism) behind such concepts. Ceremony is meaningful and symbolic therefore being sacred to our Creator.....otherwise ceremony becomes ritual and a misnomer...insulting sacred tradition and requiring the forgiveness of our Creator.
Our goal is to create a base for that being possible by offering our beliefs and knowledge to those who seek us out. Interest is self generated and "self felt" within the heart and soul of a given individual. Hopefully curiosity and seeking follow....leading to learning...to enable understanding.
The traditional Native American teachings require a life time of study and the "walk" never ends for the true seekers.
What we do, say, believe, act upon and propagate today affects the next seven generations.
We hope to leave those children of our Earth Mother with ALL that we are humanly capable of......and know in our hearts that the Creator of all will provide what we can not.
Quite as few organizations and formal institutions have stepped forward to protect the relics and artifacts of all indigenous peoples. This has been an issue of concern that is finally being addressed in a positive manner. We encourage and support this effort in any and all ways that we can and encourage everyone to do the same. By so doing we are all protecting the tangible history of our planet and her inhabitants.
As an alive, growing intertribal organization, we concentrate a great deal of effort preserving and propagating the techniques and skills utilized by our ancestors in creating the original artifacts and relics. The traditional techniques are the avenue to insuring that future generations have access to these skills irregardless of what technology does or does not continue through those generations.
All of our traditional craft items are done in the "old ways". Brain tanned hides, bone work, beading (loom and off loom), true peyote stitch, gourd stitch, gourd painting and craving, pottery (hand fired), utilization of natural and glass beads, carving, shields, rawhide work, rattles, dance fans, smudge fans, coup sticks, dance staffs, shawls, basic regalia, chokers, breast plates etc....etc. No synthetic materials and all done by hand in the traditional old way.
The world in which we are all forced to function in is very diverse....and rapidly "shrinking" due to technology, communication and transportation.
At times it is not a world of total safety or security and for this reason we have opted to create a safe haven for those within our nation.
