On 21May99 Joe reported to his first Duty Station at Norfolk, VA.
His Command is NSGA Norfolk-Direct Support.
This means he does his job while onboard surface vessels,
and when on land he does mostly training.
8July99 Joe went out to sea onboard the USS Eisenhower,
for his first 3 week training mission and returned on 23July99.
06Dec99 Joe went out to sea, working onboard the USS Mt. Whitney an Amphibious Command Vessel. He returned 15Dec99 just in time to learn of his promotion to E4, so Now Joe is a CTT3,a Petty Officer, Third Class. We enjoyed having him home on leave from 19Dec to 02Jan00.
10Apr00 to 14April00 Joe and another Sailor along with their LPO traveled down to Ft. Gordon,GA from Norfolk,VA for some observations on an Army Base.
Fortunately some R&R and Tee Time was available as well.

We were fortunate to have him visit us at home for 2 weeks before he left on 28Nov00 & returned safely on 23May2001. During this cruise he was fortunate to visit many places. Such as~ Crete, The Suez Canal, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Greece & Turkey. Mom & Dad, Grandma & Grandpa Papasso & Grandpop Toth were there in Norfolk at the pier to welcome Joe & all the other sailors home. What a Spectacular site to see Joe ontop of the Deck & the site of the Hugh Carrier as it pulled into Dockage. That was a day to remember.
Joe decided to re-enlist in the Navy. Along with some of his friends he requested to transfer at the same time. On 25Jan02 Joe completed re-enlistment procedures & left Norfolk,VA for San Angelo,TX. to stay at Goodfellow AFB, for "C" School. He began on 04Feb02 and he completed the first half with a grade of 94! On 24April02 Joe finished training here in Tx,(no scores just you pass or fail, and he left San Angelo,Tx for Aurora,CO. Which is just outside of Denver at the base of the mountains, to Report to Buckley AFB by 12June02. Which gave him plenty of travel, settling in & recoup time. Presently Joe has completed more computer schooling for the machines they will be working with, and refresher courses as things update. He is working 12 hr shifts presently and enjoyes his work. The Altitude is taking a little bit of adjusting. Joe will be stationed in Colorado for the next 3 yrs at least.
I will try to keep all updated!!
