Little Gator Creek, a new 600 acre Polk County nature preserve, is located on highway 98 north of Lakeland. Proceed one mile above where the dual highway changes to a single lane and park at
the entrance on the right. Most all of the birds found in the Green Swamp can be found here in this
heavily wooded tract. Summer Tanager,Carolina Chickadee, Yellow-throated Warbler, and Blue-gray Gnatcatcher all breed here. The trail system beyond the loop trail is not well developed so stay alert or you may lose your way.
There is no entrance fee.
