Jordanna's Skating Haven: Robin Grimes' 1999 Champions On Ice Review Jordanna's Skating Haven: Robin's COI Review

Hello!!!

Well, the highlight of my year has come and gone, but at least it was happy.:o)

OK, now for the review. Starting off I have to say that I was sitting in the Rudy Galindo section I think. I think I lost my hearing from the people sitting right behind me yelling and screaming when Rudy came out. While Rudy was doing his program, one of the guys behind us said, "Don't wave at him. You'll only encourage him."lol!!! Rudy, Victor, Michael, and Elvis all got the crowd going. I really enjoyed Michael, B&S's version of Impossible Dream, Brian, and of course Todd.

Now onto the MOST important stuff...Todd!

First of all the opening number. I was sooo upset because my camera didn't click. I really wanted a picture of that animal print shirt. Oh well! Also, Todd has a really weird fall (right onto his behind) out of the opening spin. Seems like I heard he did the same thing in one of the Boston shows.

Next, Todd's PtC program. I kept telling myself that Todd would have to be blind to NOT see my pennant from the very first row. Well, guess what...he was blind. The program was OK, not his best. I believe he doubled some jumps that were meant to be triples. I'm one of the few that actually likes that program to PtC. The closing number was wonderful. Todd really does know how to move. I kept my eyes on him the whole time.

After the closing number when they were circling the rink, I thought I'd give the pennant another try. Well, he missed it again. So as they were all standing at center ice in a row bowing to the audience, I gave the pennant one last try. HE SAW IT!!! I waved it. Then I saw Todd look my direction, put a smile on his face, and give me a little wave. I waved right back.

Now onto the best part. I didn't know if I would be able to go back by the buses or not, but I found out during supper that I would. So I got back there and there was a huge crowd. At first I thought it would be impossible, but being the small person I am, I sqeezed through until I found an open spot. By the time I found that spot, Michael and Todd had both come out and were signing autographs. I just happened to be right in the direction Todd was heading. When Todd came over to me, I held out my pennant. He got the cutest grin on his face, raised his eyebrows, and said simply "Hey, hey". (I think that means that he recognized it.lol!!!) I handed him my TE calander that I brought along and he signed in on the April page right in between Les Miz and ID. (It will be April in my house the whole year and beyond). I was so in awe of the fact that I was only a foot away from Todd that I couldn't speak, so I just smiled at him. BTW, he's really cute in pictures, but I couldn't believe how drop-dead gorgeous he was in person.:o)

Needless to say, I had a wonderful time.
