I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!
Chapter Sixteen

Recap: Stace took Mac to the mall to get a new dress and her hair done. Stace took Mac back to her house, even though Mac wanted to her own house. Stace knew of A.J.’s plan and wished him the best of luck. Stace knew they belonged together, and that they were perfect for each other.

A.J. finished dressing and came back downstairs. He had gourmet chefs come and cook an award-winning dinner for him and Mac. A.J. had a car sent to Stace’s house to pick up Mac. He was going to make sure this would be a night that she would remember forever.

Mac wondered what was going on when the limo pulled up to her house. The driver came around and Mac stepped out of the limo. She walked up the walkway to her front door. There was a single rose lying in front of the door. She picked it up and smelled it. Mac smile as she looked and thought, “I love you more and more each day A.J.” Mac pushed the door open and gasped. Candles and roses mixed with the aroma of sweet smelling food. Mac walked in and closed the door behind her. She turned around and surveyed her house. She couldn’t believe her eyes. It almost brought Mac to tears. She never knew anyone could or would love her this much.
“Hello gorgeous.” A raspy voice said from behind Mac.
“You tricked me J.” Mac said turning around looking at a very well dressed A.J.
“Yeah, I did. Do you like?” A.J. said moving closer to Mac.
“I love.” Mac said softly looking A.J. in the eyes.
“Let’s go eat.” A.J. said taking Mac by the hand and leading her into the dining. The table had two taper candles and a bottle of blackberry Merlot. A.J. pulled the chair out for Mac, and poured her a glass of Merlot. A.J. sat across from Mac and poured himself a glass of wine.
“Why did you do all of this A.J.?” Mac said taking a sip of her Merlot.
  “I owed you one.”
“You owed me?” Mac asked hurt that A.J. felt as if it was his obligation to do this for her.
“Yeah. Is something wrong?” A.J. asked seeing the look on Mac’s face.
“A.J., I don’t want you to feel as if I’m your responsibility or burden. You don’t need to prove the extent of our friendship to me. You really didn’t have to do this, and I’m sorry you felt that way.” Mac said as she got up from the table and walked to the back porch. Mac got outside near the pool and started to cry. A.J. ran outside and saw her crying and decided to try again.
“I didn’t mean it like that Mac.” A.J. said turning to look at Mac.
“Then how did you mean it A.J.?” Mac said turning toward A.J. letting tears stream down her face.
“You’ll find out before the evening is over. I promise. Please forgive me. I didn’t mean for it to come out that way. Let’s go back inside, please” A.J. asked with the infamous puppy dog eyes. Mac couldn’t help but smile. She was falling in love with him more and more everyday, but she couldn’t tell him.
“Alright J. You’ve convinced me. Let’s go finish our dinner.” Mac said as A.J. wiped away some tears that had fallen. He grabbed her hand, and they walked back inside to have their dinner.
