Chapter Twenty
Recap: “I think I’m gonna go put on a pair of sweats. I’m freezing.”
Mac got up to go change when A.J. grabbed her wrists.
“Don’t change. If you’re cold, that just gives me a better reason
to wrap my arms around you.”
“Now that’s an offer I can’t refuse.” Mac and A.J. crawled back
in bed. Mac rested her head on A.J.’s chest and he wrapped his arms around
her. They talked for a little while and then they went to sleep, peacefully
resting in each other’s arms.
Mac woke up the next morning still wrapped in A.J.’s arms. She looked
up at his face, and couldn’t help but smile. She loved him, and he loved
her. She was so happy. This is what Mac had wanted for years, and she finally
had it. Mac slowly tried to get loose from A.J.’s grip so she didn’t wake
him, but as she tried A.J.’s strong arms got tighter around her.
“I thought you were asleep?” Mac said looking up at A.J.
“No. I’ve been laying here watching you sleep. You looked so
peaceful I didn’t want to wake you.” A.J. said brushing some hair out of
Mac’s eyes.
“Well I’m gonna get up and take a shower.” Mac said leaning up
and kissing A.J. on the cheek.
“That sounds good. Can I join you?” A.J. said with an evil smirk.
Mac sat up and looked at A.J. with an astonished look on her face.
“A.J., I don’t…”
“Come on Mac. We used to take baths together.” A.J. said sitting
up to look Mac in the eyes.
“Yeah J, when we were 5. A lot has changed since then.” Mac said
getting out of bed walking to her dresser. A.J. go t out of bed and walked
over to Mac turning her around to face him.
“Come on Mac. It’s not that big of a deal.”
“Maybe not to you A.J., but to me it is. I’m not comfortable
with that…”
“Why? You’re gorgeous Mac, and you know it. So why are you uncomfortable
with this?”
“You.”
“Me?”
“Yeah you J. Look you are the one who’s got a whole lot of experience
when it comes to sex and things like that. I on the other hand don’t have
that much experience. It’s something that makes me nervous. Especially with
you. We’ve known each other forever. You just told me that you loved me
last night. Don’t you think that’s rushing it a little?” Mac said being
the levelheaded one as usual.
“You’re right Mac. As usual. I’m sorry for making you feel like
we had to do this. I love you, and I don’t want you to feel pressured into
anything.” A.J. said giving Mac an understanding hug.
“Thank you A.J.” With that Mac pulled away from A.J. and
went to take her shower.
‘Good job A.J. Almost scare away the woman that you love.’ A.J.
sighed as he thought to himself sitting back on Mac’s bed. A.J. heard the
water stop and the shower door open. Shortly after Mac came out in a pair
of shorts and a halter-top.
“The showers all your hun.” Mac said walking over to A.J. giving
him a kiss.
“Great. So what do you want to do today?” A.J. said walking over
to Mac’s closet and getting out some of his clothes.
“I don’t know. Do you want me to call everyone else and see what
they’re doing?” Mac said fixing her hair in a ponytail.
“Sure. Maybe they’d like to go with us or something.”
“Alright. I’ll go make breakfast.”
“Great, but before you do. I’ve gotta do something.”
“What?” Mac said turning to face A.J.
“This.” A.J. kissed Mac lightly then turned around and went to
the shower. Mac stood there for a while and realized how much she really
loved him.
