A notebook.Nick and Samantha had thier ways of communcationing in school, through notebooks. They'd write down little notes or whole novels to each other and pass it along to the other.
Samantha opened it and flipped through the pages.Turning to the last page, skimmed through Nick's last message about going to Europe. She remembered when she read this;tears fell down her cheecks and she realized for the first time Nick was leaving.
But he was gone now.
She shut the book and stuffed it in her suitcase, under piles and piles of clothes and belongings. She didn't know why she was taking it,it seemed like she had to.
"Are you packed?"Maria screamed, from the other room.
"Almost."She screamed back,sighing.
They were due to leave tommorow morning.Samantha knew this, but was taking her time. She always had.Just like Nick. She sighed and zipped up her last bag.Picking that up,she carried it over to her others and dropped it down on the pile. Two other suitcases, besides the one she just packed and a duffle bag laid on top of each other.
Maria bounded into the room,"Damn..okay time to pack this crap up and pile it in the car."
Samantha agreed and picked up two suitcases."I'm so strong."She muttered, following Maria down the stairs.Maria held two of her own bags. She dropped one to open the door and turned around. And laughed.Samantha looked as though she was going to fall over any second.
"This is not funny."Samantha muttered, but laughed anyway.
"Your laughing."Maria grinned and dropped a bag and unlocked the trunk. After stuffing everything in the car,Maria locked up the car and rubbed her stomach,"I am so hungrey..it ain't even funny."
Samantha laughed,"Lets order some pizza."
The pizza arrived and the girls picked up a slice.Samantha looked at Maria, giggled, and picked up her diet coke."To tommorow."
Maria laughed and picked up her own coke,"Tommorow."
