"I hope he knows how much he means to me, Mel," Laura said to her best friend over the phone. Times had been trying for Laura and Justin, and it seemed to be ending fast. She adored Justin with everything inside of her. He came and rid her of the darkness that encircled her heart for so long.

"Laura, I'm gonna do right by you always," Justin smiled, taking her in his arms, "It's not going to be like the other relationships, I promise you," he said followed by a warm kiss to Laura's forehead.
"J, I want to be able to trust you. I want to be able to love you without being scared," she pleaded at him with her eyes. His arms wrapped more tightly around her in that moment for reassurance.
"Baby girl, don't worry. It's gonna be alright," he rocked her back and forth gently, placing sweet kisses on her lips.

Laura looked to the beautiful silver ring on her finger. She listened to her best friend talk to her about how special it is that she and Justin had made it this far. She was more than right.
"Maybe ya'll are meant to be, Laur. I think you are," Mel said in a truthful, kind tone.
"But this fight, it was so bad," Laura's eyes began to tear, and she could no longer be strong enough to hold back her tears, "I can't lose him now. We've been through too much," Laura grabbed ahold of a tissue to wipe her eyes and once again glanced to the ring on her finger.
"Don't worry, someone is watching over you, sweetie," Mel reassured once again, "Try not to worry....It's going to be alright. You two are going to get past this," Mel said that and believed it fully in her heart, even if Laura was doubtful.
"I hope so," Laura whispered, "He's my baby," she felt the tears rise up once again.

"Justin, don't walk away from me," Laura raised her voice, tears in her eyes from the intensity of the moment, "DON'T YOU WALK AWAY," she shouted.
He stopped in his tracks, turning to look at his girlfriend of almost one wonderful year. Just now, he started to feel that maybe it was too much.
"I can't do this anymore...I'm sorry," he repeated, "The distance, Laur, it's way too much. I'm never here for you."
"I love you," Laura put her hands on each side of his face. Justin's eyes instantly filled with tears, and it was evident that he loved her, too. He just felt that he had to do the "right thing" by Laura as he once had promised.
"No, Laura, no," he shrugged her off, walked away, never once turning to look back.

"Hello," Laura said softly, her mind still focused completely on Justin.
NO ANSWER
"Hello," Laura said once more.
A pause, "Laura, I'm sorry. Baby, I'm so sorry," Laura gasped when she heard Justin's voice.
"J?" she said questioning, though she already knew.
"I'm so sorry, and I love you, too, baby girl," he was gentle, knowing that he was only scared to love so much.

"I sure do," Laura giggled when she heard a knock on the door, "Hold on, J."
"K, " he responded. Laura opened the door to see Justin standing there.
He grinned from ear to ear, "Guess I don't need this, " he winked, pointing to his cell phone. Laura fell into his arms.
"Couldn't miss you on our one year," he kissed her with all of the feeling he had in his heart.
