"Doctor is she going to be all right?" Joey asked as he spoke with the doctor outside of my hotel room. "What's wrong with her?" "Mr. Fatone. I am very sorry. But we took some x-rays, scans, and ran many tests. We found a large tumor in her liver. She is not going to make it." He said as Joey's eyes welled up with tears. "How long?" He asked as he peered through my hospital room window. "I give her four months if she's lucky." He said softly to Joey. "There's another thing." He started out with. "If you want her to enjoy her last months as much as she can exploring wise, like many patients do, she will only be strong enough for about two months, three if she’s lucky. The rest of the time she will probably only be strong enough to stay in bed. Hopefully being able to keep her eyes open." "Can I please go in and see her now?" He asked calmly trying to hold back tears. "Yes, I'll tell your friends who are waiting in the waiting room." "Thanks." He said before starting into my room. "Hey Sexy." He said with a slight smile trying to keep the atmosphere up. "Hey. Yes. I am so sexy sitting here all gross in a hospital bed." I said looking down at myself. "Yeah that's what you think, but to me you look gorgeous." He said taking my hand. Then giving me a little kiss. "What did the doctor say?" I asked looking over at him. He just stayed silent and wouldn't answer. He just looked at me with tears welling up. "Joey, am I dying?" I asked him. He just nodded. "What's wrong with me?" I asked him as I brought him closer to me. "You have cancer. Well, there's a tumor in your liver, and it's too big and is spreading too quickly." He said as he started crying. I just sat there shocked at what he had told me. I couldn't even speak. All I did was sat up and started balling as we sat and held each other for eternity. The months went by quickly, and the days seemed to get shorter. Kourtney soon past on within the four month period leaving Joey as a father, without wife to help him raise their child. Joey and Kourtney had had a wedding on her bedside, two weeks before she died.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~6 Years Later~~~~~~~~~"So that's the story of mommy, daddy?" Little Anthony asked his father. "That's the story. She was an amazing woman. Those were some happy times!" Joey said holding his child in his arm. "Do I look anything like her?" "You have her eyes." "Daddy, do you think mommy is with us right now?" "I know she is right here with us." Joey said as his son soon fell asleep in his arms.
