Savannah gave in, and walking closer, took him into her arms as he wrapped his so tightly around her, it was as if he would never let go again. She took a deep breath in as she felt the comfort sensation again.
"I'm home again..." She whispered, taking her face out of where she had buried it in his chest, and looking up into his green eyes. The candles from beside them reflected in them as he smiled.
"Oh god how i've missed you..." Kevin whispered, running his hands through her almost wet hair. He kissed her head, and Savannah was awakened again to the words that trailed behind them.
"..give me one more chance to give my love to you... cause no one on this earth loves you like i do..."
Savannah smiled and looked around for a minute, then finally seeing a portable little stereo on the ground in the rocks, she understood. She laughed quietly.
"Is there anyone as cute as you?.... Captain.." She whispered. It felt so good to say that name again. To feel like she knew him enough again to be able to repeat those words. He held her away from her for a second, and looked up. The snow was coming down faster than usual. But it was still warm around them. Kevin pulled a white rose out from his pocket and, smiling, extended it towards her.
"Care to dance, Sailor?" He asked, holding his other hand out. Savannah smiled and gave him a playful look as she replied.
"Why, of course!" She laughed, and he took her hand and led her into the middle of the candled heart he had prepared. They stepped carefully over one candle and then stood inside. Savannah stood in awe. With the lights only around them, and the darkness surrounding them, the inside of the heart produced an erray of light all inside, and that was it. It was as if they were alone in the world, because the world outside this heart was now invisible, hid in the darkness. The snow fell on them and their hands stayed together. Kevin placed the white rose in Savannah's belt loop, and she smiled and looked back up at him. "This is amazingly beautiful..." She kept repeating. The light was soft and the air was warm... and no world existed at that time except for theirs.
"Is it?" Kevin asked, staring into her eyes. "I havent gotten a chance to look... I believe I'm looking at the most beautiful possible thing right now..." He smiled. Savannah laughed and placed her head on his chest, feeling his arms wrap around her back as the next song started. ...She was home...
"..We're still together..still goin strong..
youre still the one i run to, the one that i belong to
youre still the one i want for life... youre still the one.
youre still the one that i love, the only one i dream of,
youre still the one i kiss goodnight......"
