~Anything Wood~
So you would like to know more about Anything Wood. Well this first page will tell you, who I am, how I started and what I can do. The first thing is who I am! My name is James. I live in Pinellas County, Florida. That is in the Tampa Bay region. It all started back when I was about 12 or 13 years old. My dad and I used to go hunting. That meant I had a few guns. The bad thing was that I was a kid and I liked to show off what I had, so I made a gun rack. It took me about two weeks, as I only used hand tools it took that long. It did not stop there. I made all sorts of things. In school, I think my best grades were in wood shop and gym. As I got older, I got better. My friends told me that I should go off and get a job with wood. Well seeing that I did not like any of the food jobs I had.

West Coast Shutters
That is when I got my first wood working job. This place is called West Coast Shutters. I started there as a sander but that did not last long. Man I hated sanding. As I was walking out. Joe (that is the owner) asked where I was going. I said that I quit. Well the next day he called me back to work. Not to sand but to work with the wood. I did not know any thing about the power tools so he taught me. |

Designers Resource
As I was working for Joe. John the owner of Designers Resource was trying to get me to move down to West Palm. He wanted me to start a business down there so he did not have to go about 250 miles to pick shutters up and he talked me into it. That was about the biggest mistake that I could ever do. It only lasted about three months down there. He did not know it would cost so much for tools. So we went broke. |
I can build just about anything out of wood. I have made Cages, Entertainment centers, Picture frames, Waterbeds, Desks and so on. You name it, I might have built it. If I have not built it, you can either give me an idea or a blue print and I will give it my all to build it.
