"You told her?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"I had to," Nick answered, not looking at me. I felt the tears form in my eyes again.
"I havent told AJ," I whispered. Nick looked up at me suddenly and stood up.
"Go, go tell him. Right now. Im not going through this alone," Nick declared.
I followed Nick's orders and walked back to the room, where AJ was sitting on the bed confused.
"AJ, I have to tell you something," I said sitting next to him. AJ didnt even look at me, I knew he sensed something was wrong.
"Last night, when Nick and I were in the spa, we kissed," I confessed. I felt like a load had been lifted off my shoulders.
AJ's head snapped up and looked at me. His brown eyes full of sadness. I didnt want to hurt him, ever.
"Go," he whispered.
"AJ, it didnt mean anything, I swear! I didnt mean for it to happen," I begged. I sounded so desperate, but I didnt care. I just wanted to put this behind me and AJ and I be fine.
"A kiss doesnt seem like that big of a deal, Melissa, but a kiss can mean so much more than a hug, than sex, I dont know. Just go," he ordered.
"But it didnt mean anything AJ, I swear," I pleaded.
"Melissa, go. Take your things with you because you arent staying in my room tonight," AJ told me. The tears flowed freely down my face.
What have I done?
When I grabbed my bag and walked slowly towards the door, I turned around and saw AJ with his head in his hands. I took a deep breath and spoke up.
"I love you AJ," I said as I left the room. As I walked down the hall, I passed Nick's room. Just as I was passing, he walked out. He looked horrible.
"Where are you going?" he asked confused.
"AJ cant find it in his heart to forgive me right now, so Im leaving. Im just going to go to the airport and get my ticket switched," I told him.
"Oh. Im sorry Melissa," Nick said.
"So am I Nick, so am I," I said and walked to the elevator. I pushed the button.
I realized I wasnt saying good bye to anyone, not even Leah, but I knew I had to get out of here.
