"Adrienne, Alexis, this is A.J.," Micki introduced to her two friends. Micki couldn't believe A.J. was standing before her. She didnt think she'd see him so fast, but she wasnt complaining.
"Nice to meet you," A.J. smiled. He waved over Kevin and Howie to meet Micki and her friends. A.J. was so excited to see Micki again, maybe this is a sign.
Everyone got introduced to each other.
"Do you want to join us?" Micki asked smiling, making A.J.'s heart swell with happiness. He didnt know what it was about Micki, but he liked the feeling she gave him.
"Sounds like fun," AJ agreed sitting down next to Micki in the booth. Howie sitting next to AJ. Adrienne and Alexis moved over so Kevin could join them on their side of the booth.
"More?" the waitress asked as she walked up.
"Now," Micki answered. After lunch...
"AJ and Micki look like their having a lot of fun," Adrienne whispered to Alexis as they sat down on a bench outside of the arcade. Micki and AJ were inside each sitting down at a car and racing fiercally with each other.
"Wonder what Matt would think?" Alexis replied to Adrienne's comment.
"Who's Matt?" Kevin asked sitting down next to the girls. Howie right behind him.
"Micki's fiancee," Adrienne announced, annoyed. It wasn't that she didn't like Kevin, because she actually found him quite attractive, but she was annoyed with Micki's behaviour.
"What?" Kevin choked out.
"I guess you dont know and Im sure AJ doesnt either," Alexis said.
Kevin and Howie looked in the arcade at Micki as she laughed hysterically at the way she was playing basketball. The cars must've gotten boring. Meanwhile...
"AJ! I made it!" Micki shrieked to AJ as she made the basket.
"Good job," AJ congragulated her. Micki beamed proudly.
Micki couldnt believe how much fun she was having with AJ, she felt like she was in high school again, which made her feel all giddy inside. Just as Micki was about to make another shot her beeper went off from inside her purse.
She picked up the pager and read the numbers. Matt.
She didnt even tell AJ she was engaged. How could she now? She had been flirting with him all afternoon, with not one single thought of Matt in her mind.
"Um, I have to go now, sorry," Micki said rushing out of the arcade to her friends that were sitting on the bench.
"Hey, um... I have to go. Alexis, Adrienne, I'll call you later. Kevin, Howie, it was nice meeting you," Micki said smiling.
"Micki wait, can I call you?"AJ said coming up behind her.
"Um...sure," Micki said than took a look at the disapproving looks from all four that were sitting on the bench. Adrienne and Alexis mustve told Howie and Kevin.
Micki rushed out of the mall to her Honda and got in and quickly sped off to go home. At home...
"Matt! Im home!" Micki called as she walked in the door of her home. She went into the living room where she found Matt.
"Hey," she said smiling. She wasnt angry with him anymore.
"LaDawn called, she needs you to call her as soon as possible," Matt gave her the message.
Micki walked into the kitchen and picked up the cordless and dialed LaDawn's father's number.
"Hello?" LaDawn's familiar voice answered.
"LaDawn!"Micki screamed.
"Hey!! Guess what? Im coming into town earlier than planned. So, I will need you to pick me up at the airport tomorrow, my mom has to work," LaDawn explained.
Micki got all the information she needed from her best friend, she was so excited that she would get to spend some time before the wedding with her. She was just so excited.
"Micki, come in here," Matt ordered as Micki and LaDawn got off the phone.
"What is it?" Micki asked.
"Megan stopped by today too. She said something about her mother and her going shopping though and you are to call her at ten tonight," Matt delivered another message.
"Thanks," Micki said sitting down on the couch to watch whatever Matt was watching.
"What is this?" Micki asked confused.
"I dont know, some new show, I thought I would check it out," Matt explained. Micki nodded.
"Im going out tonight with some friends," Matt told her. Micki frowned.
"Have fun," she said getting up and walking out of the room.
"What? Am I not allowed to?" he asked.
"Do whatever you want," she said bitterly.
"I will," he called after her.
"Fine!" she yelled to him.
She didnt understand it, but Matt and her just didnt get along lately like they used to. Maybe it was just tension about the wedding and everything, Micki concluded.
"Do you even want this to work anymore?" Matt asked as he appeared in the doorway of their room.
Micki looked up from the papers she was looking at on the desk.
"Excuse me?" she asked shocked. Why would he even ask that?
"You heard me," he said.
"Yes, I want this to work, Matt. I love you. Don't you love me?" Micki asked, tears forming in her eyes.
"Yeah, I love you, but all we've done the past like week, is argue over stupid stuff," Matt said.
"What are you saying?" Micki asked.
"I dont know," Matt replied walking out of the room.
"No! Matt! If you are having doubts, you need to tell me. I dont want to marry someone who has doubts!"Micki called following him out of the room.
"Mick, Im just scared that's all," he said stopping to face Micki.
"Well," Micki said.
"I'm just going to stay over at a friends house for a few days, think things over, you know. I want to make sure this is what I want," he said.
Micki looked down at her hands and thought. Was he going to break it off with her? No, he couldn't, no way would he do that, just weeks from their wedding.
"You should've thought things over before you proposed," Micki whispered.
Matt looked at her sadly and walked out of the house.
Micki didn't know what to feel or think or anticipate. Just this morning he was begging for forgiveness and now he was having doubts.
Just as Micki felt a tear fall from her eye, the phone rang. Who could that be? Micki thought.
