"Micki I want to be with you for the rest of my life. I was thinking last night how much you mean to me and how much I care about you," Matt confessed to me as we sat at the kitchen table.
Micki was relieved and scared at the same time, she wasnt sure anymore if Matt was the one for her. Yes, yes he is, she pounded into her head.
Micki smiled and got up and sat in Matt's lap and kissed his lips softly. She didn't feel the energy she felt when AJ kissed her, but he ignored that.
"I love you, Micki," Matt said.
"I love you too," Micki replied, not sure if she meant that anymore.
Matt kissed her lips and then her neck. He slowly began to take off her shirt. The two kissed passionatly as they made their way to the bedroom. She took off Matt's shirt as he layed her down on the bed. He layed on top of her and kissed her neck and her chest.
Just then the phone rang.
"It might be important," Micki said reaching over and picking up the cordless phone on the nightstand. Matt sighed and got off her and layed next to her, annoyed.
"Hello?" Micki asked. She was in a way relieved the phone rang. She just didnt feel right with Matt anymore and she couldn't understand it.
"Micki?" it was AJ!
"Uh, yeah, hey what's up?" Micki asked getting out of the bed and walked out to the patio, where Matt couldn't hear the conversation.
"Hi, I just wanted to talk to you," AJ said.
"I'm actually kind of glad you called," Micki told him.
"Yeah, Matt came home today," Micki said.
"Did he? What happened?" AJ asked hopeful. Micki didnt sound upset, so he knew that Matt didnt break off the engagement.
"Well, we're still getting married," Micki whispered.
"Oh, um, Im happy for you," AJ said, tears forming in his eyes.
"Um, I was wondering, I have until after the wedding off work, I got my articles done for this month and the editor already appoved, so Im free. Did you want to get some lunch tomorrow afternoon?" Micki asked.
"Um, yeah, that sounds good. We need to talk anyway," AJ told her.
Micki felt extremely nervous, what was he going to say to her? She wanted to see him so bad.
"Great, give me a call tomorrow around eleven, ok?" she asked.
"Bye."
"Bye."
Maybe him interuppting her and Matt was a sign, she's with the wrong person, maybe?
"I wish I understood myself," she sighed.
"Who was that?" Matt growled at the door.
"A friend," Micki said moving past him and into the house.
She set the phone on the cradle and felt Matt's arms around her waist. Her kissed her neck.
"We haven't done this in awhile," Matt said between kisses.
"I know, look I have a lot of work to do," she lied, thinking of AJ.
"What?!" Matt shrieked.
"I have work to do," Micki said opening her folder for work.
"Just a few seconds ago we were...," he trailed off.
Just than the doorbell rang and Micki jumped up and ran to the door. She opened it and her mother and step-father stood before her.
"Mom!" she sqealed and hugged her mother.
"Hey, what's up?" she asked.
"Nothing, come in. Hey Dave," Micki greeted her mother's husband.
"Hey," Dave said and sat down on the couch next to Micki's mother.
"Um, Micki sweetie maybe you should go put on your shirt, bras are out this season," her mother said.
Micki looked down and covered her chest. Her face got crimson as she ran into the bedroom and put on the red silk shirt she had been wearing.
When she returned Matt was in a discussion with Dave about wrestling.
"Amee, Paul, Kristin, and Brian are on their way over," her mother announced.
Micki got excited when she heard the news. Amee was her sister and Paul was her husband. Kristin and Brian were their children. Kristin was about two years older than Brian. Kristin is 7 years old, Brian being 5.
Just then the doorbell rang. Micki raced to the door to be greeted by the family.
She took Brian and Kristin into a huge hug. She loved them so much. She ushered her family into the house.
Later in the evening...
"AJ!" screamed a familiar voice. His ex- girlfriend.
"Monica," AJ said less enthusiastically.
"How've you been?" she asked wrapping her arms around him.
"Fine," he answered, still a little depressed about Micki getting married still, though.
"Wanna go to my friend's party?" Monica asked.
AJ and her were standing next to each other by a club. He shrugged and nodded. He followed Monica in his car to a huge house on the beach. The two walked into the huge house. People were dancing and drinking and just having a good time.
"Let me introduce you to my friends," Monica said dragging AJ throughout the house.
"This is Alexis, LaDawn, and Adrienne," Monica answered. AJ stood open-mouthed, staring at the three, he remembered Micki saying something about a LaDawn and he definitly remembered the other two. That meant Micki might be there.
"What are you doing out so late on a Monday night?" Adrienne asked him.
"Same thing as you," AJ replied with a smile.
"LaDawn this is AJ, maybe Micki has told you something about him," Alexis said looking at LaDawn.
"You're THE AJ?" she asked shocked.
AJ nodded, hoping that was good.
"Micki is around here somewhere," LaDawn told him.
"Cool," AJ said acting like he didnt care, but really he wanted to see her bad.
"Come AJ, let's dance," Monica said dragging him to where everyone was dancing.
The two began to dance. Then someone bumped into him from behind. He turned around and saw Micki with some guy dancing, the guy he figured was Matt.
"AJ!" Micki yelled a smile bright on her face.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and he liked that she smelt of strawberries. He didnt want to let go, but seeing as her fiancee was standing right there, he had to.
"Save me, Matt cant dance," Micki giggled.
"Mind if I cut in?" AJ asked Matt. Matt gave him a dirty look, but backed off.
AJ took Micki into his arms and the two began to dance. Micki was very impressed by his moves.
"We need to talk," AJ told her.
"Ok," Micki agreed as the two went out back, where the air was cool and no one was around. Micki looked out into the ocean, not sure if she wanted to hear what AJ had to say.
"Micki, I think... I think... I think I..." AJ stumbled.
