The original picture.
The finished hideout. The entire thing is made of FoamBoard, with photo printed distressed wood planking stationery providing the realistic feel. The stone fireplace was done using Creative paperclay, pushed into a rock face mold that I got from Woodland Scenics, painted and drybrushed with cheap folkart paints, which I HIGHLY recommend to all you dio guys. They are cheap, give high quality, and deliver UPS, so you can answer the door in your civvies. The only thing still under construction is the two gas pumps in front of the hideout. I have them approximately 78% done. Waiting to get some sticker sheets to print out actual gas pump dial images. For space requirements, I had to move the washtub (dollhouse accessory) from adjacent (as seen in the comic panel) to on top of the window. The bear skin rug was made larger due to the comic panel one was a bit small for my liking. Inside on the right is a coal stove, hence the stove pipe in the left hand corner of the comic panel. On the right, is a fireplace, complete with glowing embers. I have made four boxes of chocolate doughnuts, complete with celophane window lids which I will show later. Also are various couches, tables, and the beat up recliner (in the front of the hideout left) Not to take pluv's creativity on a deer head, I opted for an alligator head, which graces the inside top beam of the attic which has two mattress cots. The small outside outhouse looking thing is actually a kindling shed, as I have a crescent moon external outhouse on the drawing board. located at the foot of the roof top is deadfall and leaves, actually Joe sized that were punched from a craft punch on origami rice paper to get the right texture. When I load up my SLR, I will have closer detailed pix with the figures and the inside pieces. Just wanted to give thanks to pluv and all for their great help.
