FDL 60 Stereo Optical Audio update kits

Purpose: To provide Optical Stereo 35mm audio.

Status: Optional.
Parts:
     Stereo Audio update kits are available for FDL60 Telecines.  Some modifications are need to made the kit work in the FDL 60.  These modifications can be done in the field.

To install stereo in to the FDL 60 order the following:

     Stereo Pickup Photo Element  P/N F3-114205-046

and one of following:

    Preamp card without  dobly cards  ( use your external dobly equipment)
   F0-126840-800       FD456.7     about
or

      Preamp card with two dobly CAT55 cards:
  F0-126840-100       FD456.6

 Install labor  4-5 hours .  Other parts needed:  small audio wire, 15 pin “D” connector male, glue, Wire wrap wire and tool.

Description:
Modifications:  Rewire audio mother board if no Dobly bypass card is installed now.  Shorten  Preamp locking tabs.  Add two audio wires from audio rack to capstan audio PU.  Remove capstan, PU arm and old 35mm PU element.  Mount (glue) new PU element in place and reinstall capstan and audio arm.  Check alignment
 
 

PS:  If the 16mm Photo Element is damaged this a good time to replace it.
