Application notes on Philips Telecine

Purpose:

To Power off the CCD Telecine if the room temperature is too hot..

Status: Optional. Recommend for Telecines that are powered on unattended.

Description:

All FDL and Quadra Telecines come with a thermostat in the rear top center of the chassis. The output of this thermostat is on the power input strip, labeled "F" for fire. By wiring this thermostat to a relay, reset switch and buzzer the Telecine will shut off at the set temperature until the reset switch is pushed. The Buzzer is to notify that the Telecine is in an auto power off state. Set thermostat to about 47 C.

This is a good time to check the power input wiring. The Telecine should be powered by a 30 amp 120 volt twist lock power connector. This is highly recommend for safer operation. The Telecine power input is on a terminal strip. Strip label designations are: (two terminals for each) N for neutral, L for load hot and PE for power earth. Use both lug connections by pig tailing the power cord wire.! Failure to use both lugs may cause terminal overheating!

Wiring: Install with the Telecine unplugged from its power source! Remove the wire labeled SL on the power input strip. Connect to the T1 input of the power off relay as shown. Connect the other wires to power input strip as labeled.
