The Captive - Part 4

Maeve looked around the tavern and immediately spotted her friends. *No, I mustn't think that way, not now. I'll give myself away. They're not my friends. I don't know them. I'm not Maeve, I'm Feya. I'm Feya.*

Sinbad led Feya over to the table where Doubar, Rongar, Firouz, and Bryn were awaiting his return. Well, Bryn was awaiting his return. Her three male companions were too busy with a few tavern wenches to even notice that Sinbad was back, but as soon as they saw the beauty he had brought back with him, he had everyone's full attention.

"Crew, this is Feya. Feya, this is Doubar, Rongar, Firouz, and Bryn. Dermott's still outside. These are my crew, not to mention my best friends." Feya managed to look at each of them as if she were meeting them all for the first time, when in fact she already knew them all.

"It's nice to meet all of you," Feya said. Sinbad had still not released his hold on her waist, and she was enjoying the look of jealousy that she was getting from Bryn. *Let's have a little fun with this.....*

"Miss, um, did you say your name is Bryn? Ah, yes, Bryn..... It must be interesting living on a ship of men. Which of these is yours?" Feya asked gesturing to the men in general, excluding Sinbad. She made a point to lean back into Sinbad's shoulder and turned her head toward his throat so that he could feel her hot breath on his neck. Sinbad tightened his grip on her as he waited for Bryn's answer, and Feya could tell that she was doing her job well.

Bryn blushed a deep red and replied quickly yet quietly, "None." Bryn decided then and there that she was going to keep quiet and out of this one's sight for the rest of the night. She hurriedly got up from her chair and headed back toward the Nomad.

"Well, that was certainly fun," Sinbad said sarcastically.

"Feya, why don't you tell us something about yourself?" Firouz suggested.

"I... um... I'm not feeling too well. I should really be getting back to my ship."

"She was attacked just outside earlier," Sinbad supplied.

"Yes, and Sinbad bravely came to my rescue," she exclaimed as she turned and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. Once again his grip tightened and Feya sensed just how much he wanted her tonight. "Sinbad, could you walk with me back to my ship? I'm so afraid that those men will return-"

"Of course," he said, perhaps a little too eagerly. He said a quick goodbye to his friends and then gladly he walked with Feya to a ship that looked suspiciously like the Nomad and had the words "The Captive" painted neatly on the hull.
