Nick lifted his head and thought about what he was doing. He was 19, why the hell was he crying? He wiped his eyes on his sleeve and stood up so quickly that his chair almost knocked over. He walked over to the fridge and got out a bottled water. He stood there for a while and finally took a drink. "Ok...I'm standing here, doing nothing." he thought. "Yeah no kidding dummy" he thought again. "Hey shut up!" he thought. "Oh shit, I'm having conversations with myself in my head." "Yeah the first sign of insanity stupid." Nick practically ran to the phone and dialed the first number that came to mind...
RRRIIINNGGGG RRRIIINNGGG
Brian picked up the phone and said in his gentle Kentucky accent, "Hello" Nick quickly blurted out, "Bri I'm talking to myself, wanna come over?" Brian laughed and said "Nick, I was just over there a half hour ago." Nick sat back down and said quietly,"I'm lonely." Brian sighed and replied, "K I'll be there in a few." Nick smiled and hung the phone back up.
*two hours later*
Nick and Brian gleefully tried to take the remote apart. Nick grabbed one end and tried to pull out the screw that held the end into place. Off to the side were a few empty Jack Daniels bottles. Nick giggled like a school girl and said "Bri these won't come out." Brian was determined to get those screws out. He grabbed the remote from Nick and tried to hit it on the coffee table but missed. The two busted into endless laughter when the door slowly opened. Tina grinned as she heard the two guys laughing, but they sounded different.
She walked into the living room to find Nick and Brian trying to destroy the remote control for the tv. She instantly noticed that they were drunk and ran upstairs to see if Ananda was ok. The little girl was sleeping soundly on the floor of Nick's room, and Tina breathed a sigh of relief and went back down the stairs of Nick's house. She stepped into the living room once again and said in a loud voice, "Hey guys!" the two guys stopped what they were doing and looked up, surprised.
Nick was the first to recognise who she was. "T...Tiinnaa" he slurred. The guys burst out laughing and bent over from laughing so hard. Tina shook her head and grabbed Brian by the arm. He blinked a few times and stopped laughing. Tina frowned at him and said,"Brian, I thought you would have known better than this." He stared at her face blankly. She led him by the arm up the stairs. They walked into an extra room on the second floor and she pushed him onto the bed and said simply, "Sleep" She turned and walked out of the room, shutting the door.
Tina walked down the steps to find Nick sitting on the couch, staring ahead of him. Tina sat down beside him and looked at his face. He was, apparently, not nearly as drunk as Brian, as he could still think almost properly. He looked at Tina and said, "I'm sorry." She shook her head and muttered,"You don't even know what you're saying. You're not sorry." She pulled him off the couch and up the stairs. They went into another extra room, because Ananda was still in Nick's room and Tina did not want to wake her. Tina helped Nick out of his clothes, with his boxers still on. He layed down in the bed and closed his eyes. Tina sat next to him on the bed and kissed his forehead. His eyes fluttered open slightly and he whispered, "My head hurts..." Tina said quietly,"The sooner you fall asleep, your head will get better. Go to sleep hun." She stayed next to him until he had fallen asleep, and then she went into Nick's room, changed, laid down in his bed, and fell asleep.
