Chapter 1

"Bri! Get down here!" Nick Carter shouted up the stairs. "Yeah, I'm comin." Brian Littrell called from the top of the stairway, and came barreling down.

He stopped short in front of Nick, saluted him, and ran down the long hallway into the kitchen. Nick shook his head and followed in the same fashion, before running head-on into Brian, who was coming back the way he had come. Both boys fell to the ground in a heap of laughter.

Standing up, Brian held out his hand for Nick, who grabbed it tightly and pulled himself up. They walked back into the kitchen. Nick opened the fridge and got two cans of Coke while Brian sat at the counter on one of the four stools that were placed there.

"Soooo..." Nick said. Brian looked up from his half-drowned soda and smiled. "Guess whaa-aat." he said in a sing-song voice.

"You got accepted into that new collge for clowns that you wanted to go to so bad?" Nick replied.

"Ha... you could work for David Letterman..." Brian said. "Anyway," he said before Nick could speak," I found out that some people our age are gonna be at that old place down the road for like a week or so. I talked to one guy and he said he knew a girl who's parents owned the place, but they live in some kind of beach house all the time."

Nick got off his stool and threw his empty can in the trash. "And this effects me...how?"

Brian shook his head. "Clueless boy..." he muttered. Nick's head shot up. "Hey!" Brian smirked and replied, "Nice new hearing, dude. Now if they would only accept your plea for a brand new thinker, you'd be in business!"

Nick rolled his eyes and said bluntly, "Go to hell Bri." Brian laughed and said slowly, "When the time is right, maybe I will."

Nick stamped his foot on the floor. "Why won't you ever let me have the last word?!?" Brian grinned and said, "Because I just got accepted into an awesome college for clowns and you didn't." He got up and walked into the living room, turned the tv, and rested his feet on the coffee table, leaving Nick standing with a lost look on his face.
