LOOKING FOR LIGHT
The cold darkness of fear
has appeared in my life,
And everywhere I go,
I encounter trouble and strife.
What is this monster, made up
of things I dare not hold in my grasp,
Such as what is the future?
What of the past?
The Infinite Way
is to stay in the now -
But somehow, some way,
I've forgotten how.
I must look again
for beauty around me,
and most of all within me,
where I know God's love is real;
Pray for me, a sinner,
whose faith seems nil.
"Forgive and forget"
is a beginning, I know,
and like Spring follows Winter,
My serenity can once again flow;
The pain wracks my soul,
as the floodgates open,
My certainty of knowing the answers,
is suddenly broken;
With my Heavenly Father
to show me the way;
In earnest I will,
I must,
try to go foward,
just for today.
